Would you buy Essentials if it was Digital

I have read some threads lately about the Essentail line. I was just curious if they put this out in a digital format would you buy it and what format would you like to see it in.

Unfortunately, the content of the product has no appeal to me. Regardless of delivered presentation, I'm not going to buy it*.

* OK there are a few exceptions where I'd buy it FOR the presentation as opposed to the content, but they are wildly unrealistic and in many cases not grandma friendly.

Physical books are preferred by me. I only buy digital if I can't get it physically first. And thus, if I am unlikely to buy it in print, I am twice as unlikely to buy a digital version.

While I have no interest in essentials itself, when I buy product I generally like to supplement it with a digital copy. I generally use the print copy for perusal between games and the digital version at the game table (so I don't have half a dozen books scattered about).

I generally only go for digital format if physical isn't available, so like the others, it would not increase the likelihood of purchase for me.

I am no more likely to buy a digital version of Essentials than I am a physical copy.

However, if the digital copy was inexpensive, and Essentials was a game that I was interested in, then it is likely that I would get both.

I have done so with both Pathfinder and True20 - the $10 pricepoint made it worthwhile. If they came out with an ePub version it is likely that I would look at that as well.

I'd rather they posted a text version of the rules for free (ala what Paizo did with Pathfinder's SRD) so that I could check them out.

I won't simply pay for an electronic version without knowing what I'm buying first.

Yeah, the SRD, whether for 3.X or PF was pretty danged awesome. :)

Paizo has admitted that competition with their own PRD is why the pricepoint of the PF PDF is low. The rules are available for free, piracy will happen, heck, a legal searchable online version of the PRD is certain, but make it so folks will want to give you money. Lots of folks are willing to shell out a tenner.

Actually, the various doo-dads included in some of the sets (the counters in the monster vault, for example) are the only things about Essentials that have interested me at all. Thus, I'd probably be less interested in a digital version of essentials.
