Sure, but...

Only if they are all 18-year old female Swedish exchange students...

Oh...wait...wrong thread...I thought this was the TBR GenCon 2006 planning thread :p!

I had a thought while reading this post...this might be a really good type of game for "Team DMing"...where one DM focuses on story and the other handles mechanics to keep things crackin' along at a good pace with fast, furious and fun action.

Just a thought...I think it would be fun!

Adkison not Adkinson

Just FYI, his last name is Adkison (no 'n' in the middle); you can see his bio bio at the Gen Con site
Yes, I do know the correct spelling. However, my fingers don't know there is no "n" in his name!

One thing I've found in my limited experiences DMing for kids is that they often have trouble waiting for their turn, constantly wanting to ask questions in the middle of a description or act when someone else is acting. I had one player who, in the middle of a wilderness trip, wanted to purchase more arrows (he had plenty), and who would not let the subject drop, no matter how many times I told him that no arrow stores were nearby.

That sort of thing causes headaches. And I'm not speaking metaphorically.

I wonder if it'd be good to have a secondary DM who handles all written notes from the kids?

Tag-teaming could be good. The alternate (per my suggestion in the first page of this thread) is to lower the size of the group. If they are 9-10, I'm sure they are bright, but it's hard to get them to write notes. They are so excited. My 9-year old watched my game and kept asking questions despite injunction from me and her mother to "write it all down." Now, perhaps a reward system for writing things down would work. Not sure what that would be.

+1 bonus on their next d20 roll for writing it down ;)!

PS - Either that or Phat Loot...
