Well, would you?

I will happily pay the $25, or $2 month, or whatever the reasonable fee is , but only if it happens soon. Frankly, with the serious amount of downtime, blocked time, and virus issues here (and the injustice done to those poor soles still left in the mini-encounter contest), if things don't improve relatively soon, I am gone. Let's get this going already! What is the delay? Make it official, tell us what you will issue in exchange for the suggested donation (and if it is nothing more than this board, then tell us that), and let's get a roll on it!

Money...

You've got mine man. I purchased one of your T-Shirts to help support our community and I will fork up 25.00 dollars to help support the site!

What I don't understand are the people saying this is to much. Come on, it is 25 dollars, that is nothing in the real world. I can spend that without thinking on junk alone, at least if I spend it here, it is for something that really is a quality product. Someone mentioned that web-sites should not charge for these type of services considering their business model. Hello?????? Have you been watching the DOT COMS go bust! The revenue by advertising model does not work all that well yet on the web, the cost of running a web-site is not free. You pay for the server, you pay for the rack space, you pay for the right to use the software, you pay for band-width, you pay for tech support and etc... This adds up, I know... I am one of those rat bastards who charge people for server space... So instead of buying tha Taco Bell food and the money you would spend on pepto bismol after eating it... Give it to this site and feel much better...

In my absolutely non-professional understanding, a debit card is like an ATM card. It's a Point-of-Sale card, but instead of drawing on a line of credit (like a credit card), it draws directly from your checking account. I think it also involves a PIN (personal identification number) as security.

Again, I'm not a financial professional, and while I may own an ATM card, I only use it at the ATM...
Ah, it's a bancomat! :D (Sorry, that's their name here). I actually have one and use it for ATMs and many purchases, but I don't think I can use it online or to send money abroad.

Also... what -0 said. I'm more than willing to pay a 25$ one-time or a 2$ per-month for this great service. Heck, if I had a job I would be willing to pay 25$ per month, for that matter. When I'll get a credit card, you can bet the first thing I'm going to do with it is sending a donation to enworld.

The one feature I'd really like to see return would be the "jump to forum:" list box at the bottom of the screen. Any chance of bringing that back, if we get enough community supporters?

FTR, I'm in.

I voted yes, but the stipulation is that there has to be some other way than PayPal or other similar online venues.

PayPal is not backed by the FDIC, and I refuse to give my money to what is essentially an online bank without some sort of approval by them. Repeat for most things similar to PayPal. This includes (as someone mentioned) sending checks to a middle-man who then uses PayPal.

There definitely needs to be a way for people from other countries to pay Morrus in some physical way.

Probably best you change your vote to a "No" then, LightPhoenix. Right now I see noe feasible way of doing it other than by PayPal.

Another idea . . .

Morrus -

It seems there are a significant number of people who do not wish/are not able to use Paypal (I'm not one of them; I'll be making my donation via PayPal), and that credit cards/personal checks are not cost effective for you to process.

Would it be feasible for you to set up 'designated payment points' within various countries? For instance, since I live in the U.S., it would involve a check made out to ENWorld mailed to a U.S. post office box. A volunteer would collect and cash the checks into an ENWorld bank account, and send you a single check on a monthly basis.

Of course, it would be necessary to clearly establish the integrity of the process. This is why I think setting up a separate bank account is important; the monthly statements could also be independently verified by another board member with an accounting background (any CPA's out there?). Also, the checks could be signed using one of those self-inking stamps which also desigate exactly which account they are to be deposited into.

Just an idea . . .

in the above example you are relying on another person to handle the money and do the transfer. I would say this is a No-No in my book. Too many chef's ruin the soup, as the saying goes. You throw another person in the mix and you will have people saying "I pad X morrus why isn't my account on?" And have morrus look there blankly as X hasn't sent him the money.

No streamline into one source that funnels' directly into morrus and noone elese and you will have a much more organized way of doing business with a smaller chance of error.

Now you could also use Egold, that's another option.
