D&D General Would You Play High Level (12-15);Wiith Pre Generated Characters? Mostly 5.0/5.5 but theoretically any edition.

Why bother playing ttrpgs if playing the games as they were meant to be played by the designer isn't for you? Why not just play video games?
Only allowing games to start at level 1 is not how the designers meant DnD to be played.

Source: PHB page 36 specifically states "Your DM may start you at a higher level."
Additional sources: the many official WotC adventures that do not start at Level 1.

Starting at level 1 was the default, opposed to rules options like starting with higher-level "experienced" PCs.

Playing video games is insulting?

More the dismissive attitude.

Not sure if you paid attention to the various high level campaigns and lack there of.

Real life issues are often a reason but also you're wrestling with the rules from about level 8.

By the time you hit 12 (sub 10% of games apparently) the DMs probably over it.

Old school GA es not the relative lack of high level modules? The ones they made didn't sell well either apparently with the Drow one being notable exception.
Old school D&D basically topped out 10-14 being generous.

Starting at 12 with 10 sessions or so maybe few more to hit 15 minimizes the amount of time dealing with the BS.

I've run high-level (17th) D&D (PF1e) in the past. The PCs were literally superheroes. Like I could convert them over to Mutants & Masterminds and have a mini Justice League. And some players just love that kind of power-fantasy and there's nothing wrong with it.

It's just weird to me that people use D&D for that when a superhero ttrpg or Exalted or Godbound would do it better. I'd love to understand the thought process but I get that everything isn't meant to be understood.
