If I read "does not interfere with anything else" as meaning "it's your full-time job anyway", then yes, I would do it. The problem is that even prepping a weekly game would take too much time for me, bi-weekly is about all I can handle right now.

I'd be very happy to PLAY 3 times per week... but DMing is another matter entirely. I'd simply run out of ideas to use and wouldn't have the time in between sessions to recharge my creative batteries!

Now... maybe... just maybe... if I was running a big module that I already knew fairly well... maybe... but only for a while still.

Once a week is about the max for me, as far as DMing goes. Playing we could talk though... :)

Don't think I could handle 3 times a week. I've occasionally run my game twice, usually two days in a row because everybody wanted to, but 3 time a week on a regular basis would make for one watered down hack and slash snooze fest.

I've participated in 5 separate gaming groups concurrently for several months and enjoyed it very much. But, to DM for more than one game a week would really be a bit much IMO.

Some groups really demand more time than others. I had one group that was happy to game for 3-4 hours once a week, and another that wanted one 8-12 hr session each week. Believe it or not, it was the shorter session that was much more satisfying to me, mostly because the players didn't dally with details or stall the game with interruptions. Personally, I need to get my game on, and then move on to my next hobby, or work, or whatever.

Even with what I think is a very powerful and plentiful "grab bag" of DM components at the ready, with too many different games running at the same time, it can become hectic at times to keep things straight in one's head. If that ever happens to you, you're probably gaming too much.

Anybody who can gather a regular group more than once a week is at an advantage IMO, but three times a week, and I have to wonder if they shouldn't try something else as a group activity just for some healthy variety.

Would I run, as a DM, three sessions a week? I don't think I could do it for any consistent length of time. And moreso, I think it has to be a kind of experiement to try something like that in the first place, while everybody finds out how comfortable they are with it. If after a couple weeks of it, everybody is okay with it, then sure, why not?

re

I could do it in bursts. I do need breaks to prepare the adventure. Once prepared, I could run it a few times a week no trouble. I love gaming. I find few other activities as enjoyable as gaming.

I could.

when I was younger in the USCG I was on a ship and for 6 months we gamed 6 days a week. I would run some and the other gm would run. so I ran atleast 3 days a week and for 4-5 hour sessions. we had fun and a fast paced cyberpunk (before I knew what cyberpunk was) game .

I could do it agin becuase I am a better GM and could devote more to the game now. I would get tired every once in a while but I do now playing 1 a week. so I would take a break (run board games, one shots etc) every 3-4 weeks but that seems normal to me.

Okay, assuming you have the time and it does not interfere with anything else in you life, would you run a game three times a week?

yes. yes. yes. when i had no life i gamed 3-4hr session/ 5 times per week/ 50 weeks per year/ 10+years.

now i can't. but i'd still love to try it again.:D

Hell no.

(And as another poster put it - the whole point is moot anyways, as the assumptions could never apply to me. Of course I would never have the time, and of course it would interfere with my life.)

It would really depend on the group and how much work the DM has to do. I'm in one group (as a player mostly) where we can happily role-play amongst ourselves for 6 hours straight with the DM occassionaly dropping in some plot to keep us going along the main path of the adventure. It's actually a bit frustrating for our DM sometimes as heated debates between party members can last so long that start well before a combat scenario, continue through it and last until the end of the session.

On the other hand, if the players require a lot of DM interaction the this makes the job a lot more difficult.

I hope that made some sense.

I voted "Yes" and I have already DM'd 3/week and more. Back when I was a teenager (many, many moons ago) we gamed as often as possible, especially during the summer.
