Wow! I can't believe this! Thanks to all the reviewers!

Do you think the mature content (sex, violence, and cursing) would turn you off? I'm still debating on whether or not to tone down these elements as I feel that the products should be available to people of all ages.
**SNIP**
This brings me to also asking the rest of you what you think about this. In other words, how do you feel about mature content in d20 products and where should the line be drawn?

Leave it in. It won't turn us off. Egads, there's enough silly little-kid modules with sweet little fairies and adorable little halflings out there (usually in Dungeon Mag. alone!) that it'd be refreshing to have some down'n'dirty, hardcore bad-a$$ stuff going on in a more mature (and, let's face it, more "realistic") module for a change. You might not need to go so far as the Book of Vile Darkness (although that wasn't as bad as everyone said it was gonna be), but an injection of real EVIL in the bad guys would be a welcome change!

Needless to say, *I'll* buy it--provided the reviews are as positive as the first module's were!!!

rising out of the water, she uses her left hand to feebly cover enough of her modesty that you can't tell if the water is cold or not. She could have used both arms but she trails her right hand along the water skimming it's surface, she doesn't even blush as she makes her way to the shore heading right for you.
Cripes, that *IS* good. Enough implied, enough suggested, and certainly "seductive" (as I wipe the sweat from my brow), yet without sounding like it came from Penthouse Letters section or something.

Give the PCs some protective amulets against ghouls. Then make sure they notice that the "failed party" ghouls were wearing the exact same amulets... :o

That's pretty good. Can I use that? :)

But I like adorable little halflings! :) The Hamlet of Thumble is full of them.

Thanks! It should be a very interesting adventure setting because of all the complexities involved.

Have you picked up The Hamlet of Thumble yet?

Yeah, it's naughty, but subtle. The perfect combination. :)

Of course, that's why I suggested it.

Nothing to strike fear in the heart of your players than to see the enemy cut straight through the protections they put their faith in. :D

Meanwhile, there's probably an old witch somewhere making a nice profit from selling fake amulets. It's not as if her customers are going to come back and complain once they find out they don't work, right?

I'm not the type of DM that likes to terrorize my players, but I think I can a little scenario with fake amulets. :) Thanks!

There was one time though the PCs in my game bought some herbal wreathes that were supposed to protect them from evil Halloween-type spirits. But I think they pretty much knew they weren't going to work since they were only 1 sp each and sold by a nice little lady and her son who were clearly poor. Also, they fell apart after a week.

That's a great idea! Maybe I could release an uncensored version as a PDF. Though I don't know if that allows a free-for-all in terms of content as there is no age verification at on-line RPG stores. I'll have to think about it.

I'd like to hear from as many people as possible on this matter. This PDF idea is pretty good and maybe other solutions could be possible. I'm just worried that restricting content hurts the story. So, please do speak up!

By the way, thanks again for the review for The Hamlet of Thumble!

Well, you wanted opinions... I, like you, got into D&D at the tender age of 8. As an 8-year old I barely had a concept of what sex was. When I got a little older, I certainly noticed it in D&D books, and remember it well. I turn 30 this Friday and as a gamer and a Dad these days I can say even if it is not glorified I'd not want it in there for my young gamer to be or even for myself. I tend toward PG to PG-13 in violence to language to sex in my D&D games. Swearing can and does occur, romance can and does occur and violence can and does occur. None of these are very detailed. Swearing is light and often reflects a fantasy tone by being somewhat ficticous (think "frell" from Farscape). Sex can occur, but "off-screen", if you will. Most times it's flirting between PCs or PC and NPC. Violence is normal combat stuff without gory descriptions. We may detail a critical a bit, but not with spurting blood, erupting eye sockets or anything of that sort.

As far as having two versions, that sounds good, but splitting the market is generally not advised from what I've seen. I hope that helps and I hope people don't try and turn this into a debate over moral lines. It's a tough decision that I do not envy and I am certainly very happy to see you are taking it so responsibly. Kudos to you on that and best of luck in your future.

Thanks! I plan to go PG-13 or thereabouts. It's difficult to maintain a balance of keeping true to the characters and yet providing clever masked descriptions though.

Do you think it needs a "mature content" warning at a PG-13 level?
