Wraithstrike & Armour of Fortitude

Scratched_back

First Post
Hi all,

Just a quicky. This came up when duelling two PCs one against the other, as is seemingly inevitable in that space between sessions.

Basically, if I cast Wraithstrike (Complete Adventurer) and attack somebody with Armour of Fortitude, does the armour's ability still negate critical hits?

Although there's nothing in the immediate text as far as I know to say this, doesn't Wraithstrike transform melee attacks to touch attacks specifically because it bypasses armour?

Your thoughts please. :)

A much simpler question would be, "Can a Brilliant Energy weapon crit someone wearing Armor of Fortification?" The answer, by the RAW, would be no- but I could see it becoming a House Rule. After all, Brilliant Energy sucks every way you look at it, so any sort of a boost would be no skin off my nose (or whatever the saying is).
