WWE KNOW YOUR ROLE Demo

There isn't a Wisdom based class. That doesn't mean Wisdom is a dump stat. Simple Manuevers (like pinning someone) get bonuses from Wisdom. Also, a good Will save will keep you from giving up as soon as someone locks a submission move on you.

This game sounds pretty cool and as a wrestling fan I have been waiting for a decent, and hopefully good, wrestling rpg for a long, long, long time.

Having the classes based on categories of wrestling types is pretty darn cool.

Is there a mechanic to do the Hulkamania thing where you can be beaten to a living pulp and yet come back strong at the end?

I don't think you'll be disappointed with this one. My playtest group consisted mainly of me, one friend who is a part-time wrestling fan at best, and another who's main exposure to wrestling is making fun of me while I watch it. Both of them had a great time with the game.

Like D&D, there's plenty of variety, even within the main types. Your talent and feat selections can make for two very different characters, even in the same class.

Oh, yeah, "Hulk Up" is in there, although I don't know if that's the final name for the ability. There are some special tricks that you can do based on whether you're a face (good guy) or a heel (bad guy).

I see on the forum that you have stats for certain wrestlers, such as JBL and Eddie Guerrero, but I have to know--is my personal all-time favorite, the Undertaker, going to be in this?

The first release will have around 30 personalities. That will be mostly wrestlers, a few managers, and some divas. The first supplement will have more of the current roster and some superstars from the past. I don't have he final list handy, but I'd be surprised if 'Taker isn't in the first book (and shocked if he isn't in the second).

How easy will the game be to customize the game to different federations, and how will the "jobber squash" matches work when the "jobber" is obviously more talented than the actual wrestler he's fighting?

Because you know some people are going to create CM Punk and Christopher Daniels.

Mmmm, sXe means I'm better than you. Nah, the ones you have to be worried about are John Walters and Samoa Joe. They'll just brutalize your champ with stiffness.

Customizing for different federations wouldn't be tough. For example, if your homebrew company didn't like DQs or countouts, there are ways to make them less likely or you can ignore them all together. Honestly, just about any stipulation, rule, or whatever can be implemented farily easily.

As far as jobbers that are too talented, that "doesn't happen". The WWErpg approaches from the standpoint that it's all real -- no kayfabe. If a guy is getting squashed, then it's obviously because he's not as good (wink wink).

I'm 100% down for this. I would like to pre-emptively offer my condolences to the printer and wish them luck on their Sanity checks.

“Bob Holly is in trouble. I want you to pull all references to Hardcore Holly.”
“But I just sent chapter 4 to the pri . . .”
“I don’t care what you did. Also, we’re developing a character for debut at Vengeance and we think he’s going to be real big. He’s going on the cover. His name is Brock Lesnar. No chance he’ll walk away from this contract, so rest assured your cover art won’t be a joke by next year.”
“But . . .but”
“Also, Hogan called back. Now he’s in.”
“Look, I . . .”
“Wait, he’s out again.”
“ . . .”

So you would have to scale down the character? Have two seperate stat blocks on the unofficial "Indy Guy Character Sheet?"
