X-men 3: New Team Members [SPOILERS]

as someone who doesn't read comics but liked the X-Men movies, someone explain to me who Gambit is.. and how could he hook up with Rogue? Is he immune to her life-sucking ability somehow?
As for more mutants... it seems to me they need some more bad guys. They killed off 2 of them in the first one, and Pyro joined the dark side in the second one, but they are still seriously depleted. Any others they might show in the next movie?

I think it would be silly to make Angel a girl. Especially since the Marvel Universe isn't lacking for female mutants. They could bring in Dazzler or Polaris or Aurora or Wolfsbane or Blink or whoever.

Although there was a female Angel character during Grant Morrison's run, so maybe that's who they're referring to. But she was lame. Give me Dazzler anyday. :)
Dazzler? Are you out of your mind? Don't give Jessica Simpson an incentive to be in this film! :p

I don't have the DVD"s & my memory ain't what it used to be, so I could be thinking of something else......

But, didn't Angel (or some other guy with white bird wings) already make a cameo appearence? I seem to remmber in the early parts of one of the movies as Prof X is talking, seeing some guy fall out a window, spread his wings and fly?

Of course if Havey Dent/Two Face can change Skin Colors (Billie Dee to Tommy Lee) then I suppose Angel can go from male to female.

Well - I don't know whether this is good or bad news.

Beast is one of my favorite X-men, and I've always liked the Angel - but Starbucking him just bugs me. If they want another female X-man, there are plenty around to use - although I'd like to see Polaris or Shadowcat before Dazzler.

As for Gambit, he is second only to Longshot in my list of most disliked X-men characters.

I personally would like to see Black Tom Cassidy and Juggernaut or the Hellfire Club be introduced as villains.

There is such a variety of characters in the comics. I personally would love to see a story that remakes the basic plot of a particular comic mini-series. Avengers vs. X-men.
Or Secret Wars - now that would have it all.

Gambit is a Cajun thief who has the power to charge non-living matter and make them go boom. He's suave, charming and not the least bit trust worthy, yet he's still more or less, a good guy. As for his romance with Rouge, no, he's not immune to her powers at all, in fact, Rouge learned some rather aweful things about his past by touching him. They sort of have an on again, off again thing going, since Gambit is not the most faithfull boyfreind a girl could ask for.

I think the X-Men movies are falling into the same trap the Batman movies did. The idea that more characters is better. Instead, I'd have liked to see them go the Spider-man route, and focus on a few core heroes, with but a single villain in each movie.

Sadly, water under the bridge, spilt milk, and all that...

So we get two new heroes, which means two more slices of screen time to cut away from all the other heroes...

I gotta agree with the Lord of Pendragon. While it may be a sweet bonus to have new superheroes get face-time on the big screen, it can also be a burden and borders on gratuitous distraction.

.

Yes I remember that scene too, we also saw his wing in X-Ray during the fight between Wolverine and Lady Deathstrike (well I suppose it was her)

GREAT to hear that Beast is getting into the act (sans hair is cool, since the original just had big hands and feet:)) and his former movie cameo (on TV talking about mutants) allows the comic continuity to remain (since nothing was said about his connection - or not- with Dr X)

Was never big on Gambit anyway and Angel works as a girl (as long as its not ArchAngel) but me I want to see more Collosus

and bring in Mr Sinister as an ally
