X2 Trailer (otherwise known as Kick Me In the Jimmy!)

True, true, its success did open doors. And I did enjoy it. I just think it could have been so much more.
Agreed, but ya gotta start somewhere. It's why I'm pretty excited about X2, as the producers now have a chance to make it better than the first movie now that we have established characters. :)

Ristamar, I have to go 180 degrees in the other direction, with respect to Storm & Magneto. I think Ian McKellan was PERFECT as Magneto - I can't think of a better choice in Hollywood to play him.

Halle Berry as storm could have definitely been better, but her look was a PERFECT tribute to the 1970's and early 80's storm, in my opinion. THe long hair. The perfect skin and affected beauty was spot on - her performance, however, was very unconfident, because she obviously was not at all familiar with the character. But then, you would have had to have read a LOT of comic books to get that. :)

According to Bryan Singer and Patrick Stewart, the movie was very rushed and they got their budget cut considerably in pre-production so it didn't really become as big as it originally was planned to be.

X2 gets nearly double the X1 budget.

Big things coming (hopefully)!

I saw the extended trailer before DD last night.
One thing I did notice was that the actor who played the senitor (I forget his name) in the first movie - the one who gets turned into water - is apparently playing the president. Is it the same character? If so, how?

I had no interest at all in this, until I read:

BAMF!

NIGHTCRAWLER!

Gonna go download now... he he he! Might even have to see it when it comes out on video.

(Side thought: if it's still OK to call new music an "album" if it's on CD, I guess it's still OK to call something "out on video" if it's on DVD, donchathink?)

Post-trailer thought: Kitty Pryde! Kitty Pryde! I had such a crush on her in junior high. Is it OK to say that? :)

Yeah, it looks very nice. Hopefulyl Stewart and McKellan will have their fair share of screen time along with the youngsters.

He wasn't a bad choice... he simply may not have been the best choice. But as I said, a lot of the blame falls on the writing and direction (cheesy villainous scheme, ugly costume design). He just wasn't as threatening and domineering and as powerful as he could have been, which isn't really McKellen's fault. He did good with what was there.

Also, I know they were trying to be a bit more 'realistic' in the movie, as well, which is why Eric was portrayed by someone as aged as McKellen. I don't particularly agree with that decision (which is why, IMO, he may not have been the very best choice), but that's just me. My main complaints reside in the paragraph above, though.

Yes, her performance was severely lacking, IMO. I could have overlooked the terrible wig (which looks better in the X2 trailer, BTW) had she not been so 'un-Storm-like'. I think anyone who read a few comics and/or watched the cartoon could easily take notice. And I don't know why they'd want to give tribute to the 70's and 80's Storm, as they didn't feel the need to have anyone else look retro (save for Magneto's costume.... ugh). I certainly hope Beast doesn't show up as his non-blue-'n'-fuzzy persona.

You are still watching a "video" Its just not tape anymore.

And I had a crush on Kitty too.
