Yay! The boards are slowing down again!

This afternoon, the boards were slow again! Is it true? Are things going to be as {expletive-deleted} slow as they were two weeks ago? Stay tuned and find out.


Oh, here's an idea. Log out from time to time. Let the server relax from having to keep track of you. I'm gonna log out now.

It was horrible, took about 1 minute to get each page to load... and posting? Forget about posting!

I hung in there for an hour and all of a sudden... blam! Fast boards again. What a pain.

Really, it took like half an hour of hitting the refresh button every 10 seconds for me to get a page to load.

You know, most people would just give up and do something else after the first, oh, 15 tries....you must have been very, very bored. In half an hour, you could have written an NPC! Painted a miniature! Ordered in a nice vindaloo! Silly humans.

The main problem when the boards slow down is that people don't give them chance to recover. If a couple of hundred poeple are sitting there hitting refresh againa and again for an hour or so, then the load on the server becomes even greater than that which caused the problem in the first place.

My suggestion is this: if i t gets slow, leave it alone for a while. It will recover as soon as the load decreases. At present, when the load gets too much, people just make it twice as bad.

If it is slow...I just leave...and then i come back about 15 minutes alter and it usally seems better...

Sorry, I was just joking. Didn't you notice the smiley message icon.

What I really did was simply pull up a "Post new thread" window and spend the next two hours typing in a really long thread. (Its over in Rules, please go and look at it. I need some justification for my work )
