Wicht

Hero
Brief Synopsis of the Story thus far
Kalath, having accepted an assignment from the ghostly caretaker of the cemetery above the lair, ventured through a secret staircase down to an underground city, the City of the Bard. Here he sought out the Whistling Dragon, an inn of sorts, in order to kill a man named Glengary and retrieve his necklace. The mission has gone fairly smoothly thus far and when we left Kalath he was fighting an ogre, one of Glengary's bodyguards, having already dispatched Glengary himself....

With a blow of his gauntleded fists, Kalath dispatches the last ogre. It falls to the ground with a thud. The guards further down the stairs seem not to have heard the fight or for reasons of their own have chosen not to interfere.

Kalath recieves 2 experience points and may retrieve Glengary's necklace.

Glengary's Necklace (Necklace of the Cats): +1 to Jaguar, Panther and Tiger moves, +1 to Hits (stacks with both armor and shield) (value 16 yen)

There is a door on the other side of the room, across from the doors the ogres smashed in.

ooc: And 11 yen, right?

Kalath takes anything of value from Glengary and the ogres, and walks over the other door and listens at it for a second. If he hears nothing, he cautiously opens it.

sorry - i thought I had included the 11 yen , I know I thought about it :D

Hearing nothing behind the door, Kalath opens it, revealing a richly decorated hallway with a door at the end and two doors on either side.

Cleaning off any blood or telltale signs of a fight, Kalath walks softly down the hall, listening at each door for a second as he reaches them.

There is no sound from the door on the left or the door at the far end of the hall, but through the door on the right, Kalath can hear the sound of something being briskly chopped.

Kalath opens the door at the far end of the hall.

ooc: Also, Wicht, I noticed in Sidhe Li's reg entry you have "Spent 5 yen on Fist of Fury for staff". I believe FoF costs 10 yen (5 base, then +5 because it is an at will power).

hehe - you are right - I will have to change that staff power then - won't make much difference as I haven't used it yet. That was one of those things I did in a rush as I was getting ready to leave...

The door at the far end of the hall is locked...

There does not seem to be a keyhole. The wooden door itself is unusual with a curious circular indentation about 2/3 of the way up the door. The indentation is plated with a silvery metal.

"Hmmm... locked, and in some special way." Kalath shakes his head. "I don't have time for this."

Kalath turns, and walks back to Glengary's room. He continues back the way he came in, making sure to hide the necklace and making sure that no signs of the fight remain before coming into sight of the ogres. Unless he is stopped, he continues past any ogres.

The ogres are conspicously absent from their posts at the bottom of the stairs and there is no sign of them down the length of the hall. There is the sound of someone coming up the stairs at the other end of the hall.

Kalath goes to the nearest doorway on the sides of the hall and, if he can't hear anything and the door is unlocked, he goes in.
