You step through the archway and continue following the wall. After a moment, you’re pretty sure this is the same archway you came in through.

After a moment, you hear a strange slithering sound ahead.

Whatever it is, it’s near. Very near.

Then something thick and slippery wraps itself around your ravaged ankle. You feel rough teeth rasping at your skin…

An unknown creature: The spider dodges close to the island; absorbs the punch of the tree!

Lovecraft tries to grab the head of what ever is attacking him and squeeze the life out of it!

The tsunami devours the waterfall; absorbs the violence of the ledge!

Reaching out blindly, you grasp a rubbery tendril and squeeze. The gelatinous thing twitches and distends in your grip. Then it ruptures, drenching your hands in a pungent, salty-smelling jelly. With a squeal, whatever holds your ankle falls away. The slithering recedes and dwindles to silence.

You receive 1 hit defeated.

"Luckly I am pretty level headed or this situation could drive someone insane" thinks Lovecraft. "Hum, I need to find some light and a way out."

Lovecraft continues down the hallway. Feeling for a torch on the wall or any piece of metal to strike a fire with.

You continue on down the hallway. The wall holds no torches nor metal, only carvings and a couple of niches that contain nothing but dust. After about a minute of cautiously edging through the darkness, you encounter another archway.

Trying to keep his bearings, Lovecraft will search this archway like he did the other one. He will follow the wall from right after he enters the archway.

As before, passing through the archway leads to a more tightly curved wall that probably indicates a round room. This time, though, you stub your toes on something hard. After the flash of pain subsides, you feel around. It's hard... sort of smooth... a bit splintery... oh, there's some cold metal...

After a moment, you conclude that it's a barrel or a chest or some other constructed wooden thing. There's another one just past it as well. Everything smells old and dusty and musty and slightly foul. Somewhere, there's that stink of old death that tentatively lingers around the ancient dead.
