(YBA) Rules Question

On a different note, a question for all you YBA DMs: to what degree do you plan out your adventures ahead of time, and to what degree do you make them up as you go along?

Its about 50/50. I make up necessary maps ahead of time but half the stocking is done in my head (except for important people).

Question regarding holy light how exactly does it work?

Situation:

Holy Warrior vs 3 Undead, 1 considerably more powerful than the other 2.

One of the weak undead gens the holy warriors sig style and the uses holy light, the big undead uses FoF and gets shoved.

The Holy warrior does enough damage to kill the weak undead he aimed at how does carry over work? Is the 4 from Holy Light calculated after carry over or as part of the attack ? Can the large undead be affected even though its shoved? Since energy drain can negate damage from Holy Light does Holy Strike add to damage from Holy Light ?

And can Shove on a Chi/Ki Battery be used more than 1/round ? Its pretty much impossible to stop someone with shove on a battery shoving you if it can be.

If you are shoved can you still shove ?

Holy Light should work as follows - Any undead that can attack the Holy Warrior that round take damage from it if the Holy Warrior's attack succeeds (damage is per undead, not divided up among the undead). Any undead that cannot attack the Holy Warrior (because of maximum # of opponents, or because of a shove) are not hurt. Though undead are hurt by it, all other attacks should be judged as normal, even if the undead attacking are doomed to be destroyed by the Holy Light that same round.

In my opinion, a fighter should be able to use more than 1 shove in a round, but doing so of course uses up their shoves or their battery. In YBA 2.0 I might very well consider making shove slightly more expensive as it does seem to be very useful in a solo adventure.

If you are shoved first, the only action you can take is to shove someone else.

It is also worth noting that in any round, a person playing a dirty trick first cannot be shoved but a person who is shoved first cannot play the dirty trick. Furthermore, if a person does a chair shot and is then shoved, the chairshot still counts as it is an immediate effect.

If you are shoved first, the only action you can take is to shove someone else.
....

shouldn't that be:
If you are shoved first, the only possible actions are to shove someone else or use purity of focus.

Does this also apply if someone uses a Chair Shot and then another fighter uses a Dirty Trick?

If a character Shoves a monster and the monster uses Purity of Focus, can the character Shove the monster again during the same round of combat?

*Bump for Wicht*

As far as I know the answer to the above question is yes. Maybe PoF would be more Cost effective at 4 Chi/XP if it was a final word abilitiy.

That has never come up in my games but I would have to say yes - they can if able, but of course a second purity of focus can also then be used if available.

Perhaps something should be done, if shove can be repeatedly used and so can Purity of Focus a Shove or DT will always win in the end if equal XP is invested in PoF as Shove or DT since PoF costs more. It makes Purity of Focus pretty close to a waste of XP.
