Yeah! We sure showed those oppressive British dogs!!
Actually it's kind of cool how we became allies with them after all ... it's kind of like the rebelious teenager who runs away from home, but then later when they're both a little older they decide they can be friends better than they can be family.
Or something. I clearly have no clue.
Finally, a note about this holiday. Our neighborhood (north side of Madison, WI) hosts an annual "Rhythm and Booms" festival, which is basically a day of partying and then a night of fireworks timed to cheesy music. Ick, I hate it. We get over 200,000 people crammed into one park (there's only about 200,000 people in the whole city of Madison!). The traffic is aweful, our neighbors stay up until midnight shooting off their own illegal fireworks (the casings of which end up in my yard). And then the next day, the park is like a war zone. You would be staggered at the amount of garbage just thrown on the ground.
So yeah, I'm happy that it's over, to be honest.
