Yet Another Polymorph Question

Hiya,

Real quick:

1) If I Polymorph Self into a Hippogriff, how do I turn back into human form? The spell's duration has a (D) which allows me to dismiss it, but that requires a verbal component and I can't speak. Are my only options to wait until the duration expires, to have the Natural Spell feat, or to have someone else dispel it?

2) If I Polymorph Self into a Fire Giant, my items remain with me but just grow in size. Does my falchion now become a Huge weapon instead of a Large one? That is - does a weapon's base damage change if increased as part of a Polymorph spell?

Thanks!

1) Unless you have a silent, stilled dispel magic or the options you mention, you can't turn back into human form until the spell ends.

2) Yes. The spell description says that equipment changes to fit your new size. So, using your example, a falchion would become one size larger and do 2d6 damage.

Remember that in the original version of the spell, you could change forms simply by willing it for the entire duration, so a wizard would never get "stuck" as a hippogriff, waiting for the spell to expire.

The spell has gone through so many versions, it's not surprising this got overlooked :)

It wouldn't break the spell (again :) ) to say that the caster can resume his original form and end the spell by willing it to be so, IMO.

A barbarian's rage and dwarven defender's stance abilities...can they be utilzied after one as polymorphed into another form? i know you can't do supernatural abilities, but i dont think the books make a distinction for those abilities...couldn't find it in the errata/clarification. help?

Are you asking if a polymorphed Barbarian can still rage if turned into a hipogriff? Yes, since he still has his mind & all his class features.

Which is why Rogue/Druid/Shifters are nasty, 'cuz they can easily get into positions where they can sneak attack...
