You are arrested and thrown in prison, what do you do now?

In our last session we were arrested and thrown in a cell (a reoccuring theme in this campaign) without any of our stuff. I know this is a fairly common situation in D&D but its a first for our party. What clever tricks have worked in your games? The party is 4th level and consists of a half orc barbarian, a human rogue, a halfling wizard, and a human cleric3/wizard1. Thanks for the help.

Have you ever played Chrono Trigger?

"Guard, my chin hurts."
...
"Hah, frogs don't have chins!"

Lure the guard in, knock him out?

Well, you lift the weapons off of the guard for temporary use. Then, you find your items -- since they'll more than likely be somewhere in the building, probably not too far away -- and then when you have all your stuff, getting out should be a little easier. Fly spells, Invisibility maybe... or do the old fashion fighting your way out. If you insist on being able to go back there in the future, maybe you can make your way to the Mayor's place (or whatever) and explain the situation to him.

Speaking of Invisibility, if this is feasible, the best way to get the guards to come into the cell so you can beat em up may be to cast Invisibility on everyone and then make some kind of "escaping" sound. When the guards come in to check, they find the room empty...

I don't know how they'd do that. The Wizards likely don't have their spellbooks.

I suppose pleading your case and trying to get out within the limits of the law is completely unrealistic, then?
Hahahahaha.

Where's the fun in that?

Well I figured there was an off-chance that one of them still had it memorised or the cleric had the Trickery domain. It just takes one invisibility to affect an object under which everyone can hide...but its unlikely to be available, so I did say "If this is feasible";)

Whenever my party gets thrown in jail, the jail cell always has an Anti-Magic Field. Always. Kind of annoying.

And, uh, Rystil? Your sig has always struck me as amazingly big. You could you put the [ size=1 ] [ /size ] around it? Without the spaces, of course.
