(Not everything here is clearly supported by the letter of the rules, but it all seems like a pretty common-sense extrapolation of the rules, which -- for purposes of proficiency -- treat the Bastard sword as if it were two different weapons. The Martial one is Large. The Exotic one is Medium.)

I think which this in mind you can handle nearly any situation.
And it is a really interesting interpretation but it works out really good.

I am beginning to wonder if you even realize that the FAQ is nothing but a large suggestion box. A suggestion box that everybody seems to reach for when they are unable to find the rules anywhere else.
