Your Personal 'Eternal Champion' (ie the Trade Mark character)

Heh. One day when I was stuck for a name for a character in VtM, I used the name J.W. Boh.

It's not really the same character that I keep revisiting per se, but the same clan. Almost all of my dwarves, whatever the system or setting, belong to clan Redhammer. There's been one in every edition since Ralif Redhammer in OD&D.

I don't have one, though I have a friend (a Shannara fan) who frequently plays human, half-elven, or elven Rangers last-named "Boh" a lot. :)

I don't really have a specific character that I play.

I have a couple of general archetypes that I find myself often recreating, though.

One is a gnome tinkerer/philosopher. The first was a gnome cleric/illusionist. The second is less developed, but is an illusionist (from C&C rules) and I'm playing him (off and on) in the WLD. He's a philosopher, and as an illusionist, he believes the entire WLD is just a figment of his imagination.

The second archetype is female, and is a naive individual struggling with their place in the world. They are typically young, always sorcerers, and they are wrestling a little bit with their power, and trying to not let it corrupt them.

Lastly, I often play an elderly clerical figure, less combat-oriented, and more knowledge oriented (which is why I'm a big fan of the cloistered cleric in UA). I've played a couple of this over the years, and have a current one in a Harn-based game that I'm currently playing.

I often go through Phases where I will create different character, but with similar outlooks. Maybe the noble warrior for a while (so paladins, honorable fighters, even the do good swashbuckler), then move to a face like character (bard, rogue, other charismatic character), and so on and so on.

I usually only recreate a character if I liked it and I didn't get a good chance to fully explore it.

Hm... there is that character that became a god. It was my first 3e Character - Pharaun Craulnober, moon elf bladesinger - the campaign went into epic levels, and I worked with the DM to let him achieve godhood - at the very end of the campaign of course.

He has been in my version of the Seldarine ever since, and in his games also. I even had a PC follower (one player played a bladesinger, and of course I proselytized him OOG).

One of my fellow players had a character become a god at the end of the Time of Troubles modules. He got very friendly with Midnight during the modules, so he was elevated to deification when she became the new Mystra. Now another GM is keeping that demigod in our newest FR campaign. Jaedrig Pol, patron of bards and performers.

I'm running an elf cleric/order of the bow initiate in a short-term, high-level campaign. I wouldn't mind trying her out from first level, although I think if I do I'll switch from cleric to ranger.
