Your Three Desert Island RPGs

I'm surprised how few votes D&D 5E is getting. I don't think it made anyone's list. I'm also surprised that D&D 2E (my favorite edition) got as many votes as it has, granted it was only a few.
I think it's safe to say that 5E is most long-time gamer's second or third favorite version of D&D. It's not even in my top five favorite editions of D&D. B/X, BECMI, 4E, AD&D, and AD&D 2E. 2E is only there because of the mountain of amazing settings and splat books. I've never actually played 2E and it still beats 5E.

It made mine, mostly because I know lots of players who'd be sad if it wasn't an option.

My online group alternates between Shadowdark and 5E, and the 5E games are always packed (we had seven players today), although we always have enough people to play Shadowdark (or Pirate Borg or Mothership or whatever our alternate month game is).

I would rather play 5E right now. Do I want to play it in 20 years. Probably not.

D6 Star Wars and 2E pass that bar. Quite a few D6 mentions. Thought I was the last one liking or playing it.
Planet of the Apes (released this year) uses D6 system; Magnetic changed a stat, and reduced to six skills per attribute, but it's still firmly grounded in OpenD6 (D6 Space, specifically).
5E is "everyone's second favorite edition".

I'll note that many of those who have divergent tastes, D&D 5 isn't in the top 10. For some of us, it's in the NOPE!!! pile. (It's not that I dislike the core mechanic — Pugmire/Monarchies of Mau/Squeeks in the Deep are 5E derived, and pretty good. Same for Wyvern's SG-1).
I don't think 5e14 was bad, it just isn't great. D&D is to RPGs as McDonalds is to Hamburgers...

D&D 5e because I want to play something with whoever else I'm with. And I know I can do most fantasy tales with minor revisions.
Twilight: 2000 for my stories of the current day, alt histories and near futures
Ten Candles because I'd want a horror game.

Assuming I'd eat anyone else stuck on the island with me: Thousand Year Old Vampire for some solo play. Then Modos RPG, so I could use it to build the third game. Honorable mention to D&D 6th ed, because it's what the people I ate were playing.
