Your top 5 sci-fi movies (and why)

Being a big fan of film noir, that was the reason I liked it. Most of my friends who aren't into film noir prefer it without, and I can watch either, but something about that narration tickles that part of my brain.

Add me to one of those that prefer this in the film. I think it raises the film above many others. It also makes it feel more like the story it's based off of...of which Ridley lost the point of in his redo/director's cut...etc.

I don’t think any of the films really got PK Dick’s real points but that would be very hard to do in a film length offering. I don’t blame Scott for making what he did and think it was mostly good choices.

I think A Scanner Darkly and Radio Free Albemuth got Dick’s points. Others, from “not so much” to “the exact opposite”.

The world is simply not ready for the Whiskey Tango Foxtrot of a film that really gets Phillip K. Dicks real points, mixing LSD with neo-Gnostic mysticism.

"Deciphered, my novel tells a quite different story from the surface story (…). The real story is simply this: the return of Christ, now king rather than suffering servant. Judge rather than victim of unfair judgment. Everything is reversed. The core message of my novel, without my knowing it, was a warning to the powerful: You will shortly be judged and condemned."
