Zombies and Crooks (DM:Mal Malenkirk Judge: Covaithe )

Moving under cover of the broadband blessing of Apoli, Andrec circles around the monster, seizing it's attention with a quick jab at its middle. Swinging fiercely in retaliation, the zombie does not see Jarel-Karn's fatal attack until it is too late.

The Zombie lumbers forward as the lieutenant charge Andrec and lands a solid blow.

But the kicker is the rogue that appears from behind the table and throws a wicked dagger at Jarel who feels the pain. Did the little bugger spend the day hidden behind the table, hoping for a heroe to pass by?!

[sblock=OOC]Try to keep one of the two living opponent alive, will you? ;) Oh, and I wil also give XP after this fight; Andrec and Montroya will have enough to be level 3.[/sblock]

Even as the dust settles from the fallen zombie, Andrec grunts in surprise as he is attacked from behind. Pivoting in place he lashes out with his shield, unbalancing the attacker and knocking him back to the wall. Keeping a wary eye on that enemy, not to mention the two across the room, Andrec backs towards the door while Jarel-Karn advances.

Montroya steps to the doorway. Raising his rod once again he invokes a prayer to Apoli. Beams of light lash out over the enemies of his faith. The undead and the soldier are struck by the beams of light, but the stealthy one is able to duck under the attack.

As he sees the dagger coming to him, he deflects the projectile, who successfully hit, but with less pain than first expected.

He then moves next to the Rogue, keeping his back to the wall. He power up his body and strike at the Rogue, making him a serious wound. The lightning bounce to the zombie who get heavily burned. Keeping an eye on the Rogue, he still keep the Lieutenant in sight and prepare a trick of his own for him.

[SBLOCK=OOC]Interrupt: Channeling Shield on himself. Damage from the Rogue attack is reduced by 8 and my next successful attack until the end of my next turn will do +3 damage.

Move: Move to N14

Standard: Ligthning Clash vs Rogue (AC), Zombie(Refl) (1d20+9=25, 2d8+9=18, 1d20+9=21, 1d8+1d6+6=14) Hit both!

Interrupt: During next round, if:
1) The Lieutenant hits Andrec or Montroya with a melee attack and
2) Jarel-karn is within melee reach of the Rogue only the:

Jarel-karn will use Dimensional Vortex : Dimensional Vortex (Will) (1d20+6=26) (What a waste of critical here). That mean the Lieutenant will be teleported 5 squares (next to the Rogue if in range, if not, next to the zombie, if not, far from me and ally, but still within a move action. If he finish next to the zombie or rogue, he made his attack against that target and do 3 more damage against it. If I use that power, the Rogue would probably have a AoO (Yeah, that power is ranged, not close burst): AoO from Rogue (1d20+8=25, 1d4+1=2) Oh well, 2 damages. That's fine considering I will prevent a lot more on Andrec.[/SBLOCK]

[sblock=Velmont]Prickly situation. This power will of course be a lot more effective if the lieutenant acts before the zombie; if the zombie moves to attack you, he is too far for the lieutenant to attack.

So...

Zombie is playing Even, Lieutenant is playing odds, winner goes first:
1:Zombie 2:Lieutenant (1d2=2, 1d2=2)

Even, the zombie wins and goes first.
[/sblock]

The Zombie lumbers forward. The rogue gesticulate wildly to order the monstrosity to circle around Jarel. It obeys and slams into Jarel from the rear.

The lieutenant steps up, makes a dangerous lunge at Montroya but most have been distracted by his aura of holiness because he misses widely.

[sblock=Jarel]
Well, he missed.

I noticed that the power is Ranged, though. The zombie and the rogue would have gotten an OA if you had used it.
[/sblock]

The rogue takes masterful advantage from the flanking opportunity afforded by the Zombie and launch a devastating strike.

Seeing Jarel-Karn in dire straights, Andrec dashes to the east wall, putting the Zombie in the same fix as the stalwart swordsman, hoping to distract and destroy it before it can take further advantage. Striking in tandem with Jarel-Karn, Andrec lands a fatal blow on the decaying flesh... but the dark energies that keep the zombie active refuse to release their grip despite the terrible damage the corpse has received. Calling out encouragement to his ally, Andrec prepares to take advantage of any opening to finish off this monstrosity.

[sblock=Reactions]If the zombie takes an attack at Jarel-Karn this turn, I'd like to activate Battle Awareness on it. It's an immediate interrupt, so if I hit the zombie will be destroyed before making its attack.[/sblock]
[sblock=mal]I notice that as I write this, Andrec's marker is at G16, though he moved to I17 last turn. I looked for anything that might have relocated him but couldn't find anything, so I'm assuming it was just overlooked. If I was moved, let me know and I'll change my post.[/sblock]

"Where is Rinch?!" The deva steps back from the soldier and raises his inscribed rod. Beams of light bounce around the room, striking at their foes. It misses the soldier but the rogue and zombie are struck. The zombie crumples to the ground, smoking.

[SBLOCK=OOC]That's why my condition 2 was: Jarel-karn is within melee reach of the Rogue only. I wasn't scared of the Rogue AoO, but I didn't wanted to be attacked by the zombie. Also, if the zombie was in melee reach to me, it meant he had moved before the Lieutenant and he was no more in reach of the teleportation.[/SBLOCK]

"Thanks Andrec." Jarel-karn moves back over the corpse of the zombie, now having Andrec in his back, he pulls the Rogue next to him and he marks the Rogue.

[SBLOCK=OOC]Move: Shift to N15
Standard: Ligthning Lure (1d20+6=14, 1d6+6=11) Hit Fortitude for 11 damages. Pull the Rogue at M14.
Minor: Mark Rogue

Immediat Interrupt: If
1) The lieutenant hit any ally in melee
2) The lieutenant is not in melee reach of Jarel-karn
3) The lieutenant can be teleported next to the Rogue

Then I use Dimensional Vortex against the Lieutenant: Dimensional Vortex (1d20+6=24) Hit. He will be teleported upt o 5 suqares next to teh Rogue and he will do +3 damage to the Rogue.

Rogue would get an AoO: Rogue AoO (1d20+8=9, 1d4+1=2) That would be a miss.

If that opportunity doesn't arise and I have a chance to use my Aegis instead, I'll use it.[/SBLOCK]

[sblock=ooc]Uh-oh. Seems my post wasn't clear. The zombie has 1 hit point left. I'd just assume J-K shifted SW, and if the zombie tries to get him, I kill it. sound good?[/sblock]
