Map or floor plan of an oil platform needed

I don't have much trouble coming up with stuff that I know, residential and commercial sites, but it's the stuff I don't know well that I'd like a map of, which is mainly industrial sites. Stuff like: -Sawmill -Car Plant -Semiconductor Plants -Nuclear Powerplant

    Any CRPGs dynamically generating story?

The Gorbesh invasion was very tough. But except for major world changing events that occasionally destroyed a village or put a few new areas up--the non-PC world didn't change much.

    Iron Heroes Balance Issues

We added a change to Primal Howl that made it act more like a D&D fear spell with a set duration. I can't remember what it was, I think 2d4 rounds, so in longer fights those enemies could return. IH characters are more powerful in melee but are sitting ducks for some magic. Things that drain...

    More Stuff For Robots...

I'm with you! Either more robots or universal health care, it's a toss-up.

    Mutants & Masterminds

This is the biggest "flaw" of the game. And I say "flaw" because it really isn't, you just need to play with RP mature people (and you can be RP mature at 13). If the characters are really unbalanced with regard to one another it can be very hard to present them with challenges that everyone...

M&M: How does a villain get a word in edge-wise?

In my experience this is the best way to handle the situation, in addition to upping the super-villain's PL. Place fights in population centers and have a list of possible non-super targets (which you can save and use again). Find out just how much of a "hero" they are. What it does is give...

    Galactic Civilizations II: Dread Lords

I've really enjoyed GC2 and it's part of my playing rotation right now. I do agree with the poster above, I think Trancejeremy, that said it is kind of boring if you're not fighting a war. Basically, exploration and then racing to planets is fun and after that you might as well start knocking...

Warlock a good replacement in Iron Heores?

My group has been playing IH for a while now, and we cut the Arcanist out totally. There are no spell-casting PCs allowed, and our viewpoint is that magic = demonic = bad. It's been a lot of fun not having spell casters (or magic items, also from the Abyss) to lean on; after playing a few...

    OK, Conan pretty much ROCKS

What I still call the film: "Conehead the Barbiturate"

    Your favorite westerns.

I like most every film mentioned (and own a bunch), but I haven't seen one of my favorites, "The Longriders". It's a much slower film, which turns some people off, but I enjoyed the character interaction and, of course, the bank shootout. It's like the Wild Bunch on slowmo. I also loved and...

Kickin' it old school -- are you game?

If the only game in town was 1E I'd be up for it, dust off a bunch of old modules and go to work. However, I prefer 3rd edition. Character classes are more balanced and leveling is much, much faster which is important for me since the 36 hr game sessions are a thing of the past.

    Sigh ... more anti-D&D nonsense

Fantasy football is much more akin to gambling than role-playing. FF puts you in handicapper mode, trying to figure which player will have big games versus opposing teams defense. Done as it should be, it's more of a constant math challenge than D&D. As far as hammering the D&D hobby, this is...

Mixing AE and D&D - anyone want to share their house rules?

In an AU/D&D3.0 mixed game with AU magic system, I found the biggest problem through 10 levels of play is no easy restoration from AU magics. Players got hit by poisons, monster ability drains, and D&D spells that drained their abilities and didn't have the ability to restore those points...

GM's What do you do to prepare for a game?

Beyond writing up NPCs, monsters, maps, and the standard time intensive work; before each session I: 1) Review the "quick notes" I took from last session and make sure I work them into the game or plan for them to come about later. "Quick notes" are things that the players did I need to...

    Most useless book ever?

How about any of the four books I own from Fast Forward, with probably Dungeon World: Catacombs being the worst. The only bright point is I bought them at a significantly reduced price and they do a good job of stabilizing a short table leg.

Legends & Lairs: School of Illusion

I own, but have not used the School of Illusion book. However, I have used a number of the books from the Legend & Lairs series and have not seen a significant problem with them being over-powered. The tweaks I've made have been minor. Overall, I've been happy with the quality of the Legend &...

Why can't you be prepared for a game session

I've seen the "didn't have time" attitude again and again over the years. Given the short amount of time it takes to level up a character, the real reason isn't about not having time, it's about not caring about other people's time. If they arrive a little late then have to spend 15-20 minutes...

    Anyone have D20 Cyberscape?

I plan on picking up Cyberscape, but I am looking for a different version of VR than Cyberpunk 2020. We played a considerable amount of 2020, but the Netrunner's skills did not help foster a group game, except when taking over computer controlled devices while doing B&Es or something of that...
