    Implements and recurring damage

Ah. neat. I was getting into a recursive loop of "but then it was never triggered, which meant the attack hit, which means it was triggered...". Good to know it's explicitly addressed.

    Implements and recurring damage

I also have a question about the Shield spell - does the increase in AC work against (and stop) the hit that triggered it? Or is it only for if I get attacked again that round?

    multi class Divine Sanction?

They're subject to your Divine Sanction. Unfortunately you don't have a divine sanction, so this doesn't do you a lot of good.

    Duel Wielding Implements - Clarifications

If I have both hands full because I'm using two implements, does that stop me from using Reagents?

    Implements and recurring damage

I suppose it's all down to party roles. My total DPS was stratospherically high but the Rogue's single-target damage let him take out enemy leaders and the meleer who broke away from the tanks, the Druid was shoving people around like no tommorrow, and the Paladin/Fighter kept things locked...

    Implements and recurring damage

Thanks for the help. We were running that way at first, but decided that I probably shouldn't be adding the bonus after I seemed to be outdamaging the rest of the party put together (I guess the Druid who kept shoving enemies back into the Stinking Cloud or next to the Flaming Sphere helped with...

    Implements and recurring damage

Say I cast cloudkill, doing "1d10 + intelligence modifier" damage to everyone in the area. I add the enhancement bonus of my implement to that damage. At the start of the enemy's turn he takes "1d10 + intelligence modifier" damage once again, do I add my implement bonus to that as well?

The Talon of the Silver Hawk

I liked most of Feist's other work (particularly the Empire series he co-authored), but I thought Talon was really really bad. Incredibly cliche revenge tale with a supercompetant and honourable hero, with a reprise of his old characters in a secret conspiracy - there was just nothing in the...

The Mésalliance. Part 1. (Updated 4/18.)

The spell wasn't so much ineffective as poorly tactically deployed. She Is Tired of Your Interference saved the party when they otherwise would probably have died, facing way too many fiends when out of spells. And those Glooms caused severe pain to Grazz't, they would almost certainly have...

Sagiro's Story Hour Returns (new thread started on 5/18/08)

    Yay! More Sagiro goodness.

Just *how* big is that gold piece again?

I think of them as about the size of a sequin - given the way PCs seem to carry around hundreds of the things in their pockets.

    RPG.NET down [Again] ?

Allan has said that memberships should be available in a week or two.

Eadric et. al. (The Paladin and his Friends).

But they're planning to bind him on another plane.

Eadric et. al. (The Paladin and his Friends).

Then it's Mostin's job to know it. I mean, something like that would only encourage him to cast it. Is there any reason Nwm won't let the spell be used against Grazz't?

What does a good group do with Evil equipment?

I'd either award XP equal to the amount that went into making them or allow them to be converted as per BoED.

Need help protecting a Decanter of Endless Water used as a fountain in my town!

Or held under tight security somewhere. So you have to steal that first (and it isn't easy).

Need help protecting a Decanter of Endless Water used as a fountain in my town!

The Fountain of Endless Water idea is good but then it is completely impossible to steal, removing a possible plot hook. Knowledge of how the fountain works should certainly not be spread around, but a few select people would have to know about the Decanter.

unusual ways of getting a party together

Last campaign we all decided how we knew each other (everybody knew at least 1 other person), and then just started roleplaying. Eventually the DM inserted plot elements ("Ok, while you (PC1) are breaking into the house to steal the documents (PC2) asked for, you also see a safe in the corner...").

    Spartan Training

I would not give Spartan PCs any bonus. Rather, that's why they have the 16 Con listed on their character sheet and proficiency in all martial weapons. PCs are by definition exceptional people, the Spartan background is just one possible explanation for their exceptionalness.

Need help protecting a Decanter of Endless Water used as a fountain in my town!

Embed in into a massive stone pedestal with just a channel for the water to come out (the Romans had concrete, why not these people?). Sure it could still be stolen, but the sound of sledgehammers would probably attract people if it's in the main square. The town constable also has a stone of...
