Inns in an Instant - New Dragon article for creating random inns turned into a quick web app.

Hi all. Just thought I'd share a somewhat obscure link I found that you may find useful. It's an application that uses the Inns in an Instant article from December 2012's issue of 'Dragon.' It converts it into a quick generator you can run fairly quickly, and allows you to print off a whole...

Wood Elves and Wild Elves - Different since?

    Cool thanks for the responses.

Wood Elves and Wild Elves - Different since?

It's been a long time since hearing of the Wood Elves and Wild Elves back in 2nd edition, and somewhere along the way I must have mixed and merged them into the same thing. Someone recently pointed out to me that they're now completely different sub-races. How did I ever get these two mixed up...

    D&D 4E 5E Wishlist, and what failed about 4E

I agree with you on nearly every point. All I'd add is that 4E did a lot of things better, but took away the uniqueness to characters in the process. We need the fluff back too. It's just lost its fantasy atmosphere on a lot of different levels.

    D&D 4E 5E Wishlist, and what failed about 4E

I actually tried the glue and paper solution. It doesn't work anymore. Back in 3.5 I did the same thing to my PHB. I managed to get everything to fit. However this time around, for my 4E 'fixes', I got about 2 pages (of the many) errata cut up on my table ready to put in the books, in a small...

    D&D 4E 5E Wishlist, and what failed about 4E

For me, I'm not concerned so much with magic items, character classes, races or alignments, demons, devils, monsters or anything else. My problems and dreams are far simpler and very basic: Please deal with errata better. The next small section will be basically me ranting on the problems with...

'Melee' powers and throwing melee weapons...

Since Righteous Brand is a 'Melee' power, and my melee weapon is a Dwarven Thrower, and I can use Righteous Brand as a basic attack (Power of Skill feat)... that means whenever I'm granted a Basic Attack I can use Righteous Brand at range? Correct? Also, since Righteous Brand can now be used in...

Move and then charge, or *only* charge in a round?

Cool thanks guys. I thought as much.

Move and then charge, or *only* charge in a round?

In the Rules Compendium it says you can't take any *further* actions after charging. It clearly says that after you charge you cannot then do anything else (except a free action), which is fine. The problem is, it doesn't say you can't do a move action, and *then* charge as your standard. It...

Where do devils go when they die (on the Prime Material)?

Ok I guess I'll just wing it then. ;)

Where do devils go when they die (on the Prime Material)?

As the subject. I remember in older editions they used to 'puff' go away, unless they were 'gated'... etc. I remember reading *somewhere* that they now just die. That's it. If that's so, could someone please point to the source as well? It's driving me crazy.

    Lava damage?

I could have sworn I saw lava damage somewhere in one of the books. Someone fell into lava in our game last week and couldn't find out what the effects should be. Anyone remember? Plz post where you found it too if you don't mind. :)

Player 1 'grabs and pulls' player 2, then claims it's 'Forced movement, no AtOp'

Ok I have no idea what you're talking about here. My authority as a DM? Um yeah, what are you talking about? What does this have to do with clarifying this problem? I'll guess at what you're getting at. You think that because my player argued I feel somehow threatened in my authority as a DM...

Player 1 'grabs and pulls' player 2, then claims it's 'Forced movement, no AtOp'

Forced movement... Forced. As in, forced? Not willing? How is this complicated? You don't have a choice, you're forced? You want to go. Nobody is forcing you. If you are being pulled, but you don't want to be pulled, you are being forced. If you are being pulled, and you want to be pulled, you...

Player 1 'grabs and pulls' player 2, then claims it's 'Forced movement, no AtOp'

Allowing someone to pull you is not forced movement. You are a willing target. The intention of not allowing AtOps on creatures that are being forced to move around seems fairly obvious this was to avoid players exploiting moving creatures around to gain AtOps on top of moving them around the...

Player 1 'grabs and pulls' player 2, then claims it's 'Forced movement, no AtOp'

No they were using a reach weapon. Player A offered the reach weapon to player B, player B held on and stepped back. That would be a standard to grab (or just as arguably a free action seeing as the player was a willing target) and a move.

Player 1 'grabs and pulls' player 2, then claims it's 'Forced movement, no AtOp'

PHB Page 285: "Certain powers and effects allow you to pull, push or slide a target." and then "The power you're using specifies how many squares you can move a target. You can choose to move the target fewer squares or not to move it at all. You can't move the target vertically." Nowhere...

Player 1 'grabs and pulls' player 2, then claims it's 'Forced movement, no AtOp'

Actually, A was immobilized already by being stuck in sand. A mummy was standing next to him. Character B pulled him away form the Mummy. Claiming it was 'forced' movement (which it wasn't, he allowed it to happen and it wasn't a power or effect as it says in the PHB) then player A claimed...
