Normally I find Razz's posts detestable and generally worthless, but I have to admit he has a point. The farther we get from the starting point, the more unrecognizeable D&D will become, for whatever reasons that prompted change in the first place. Tieflings as a core race and 25 spell levels...

With new editions comes new fans. These editions also alienate fans of previous editions, in this case creating a new subset of grognards faithful to 3e/3.5 How many editions need to come out before the older editions have claimed too much of Wotc's market share to profit by a new edition...

Well, in any case, the 3e crowd will know how it feels for us older Grognards when a favorite edition gets swept under the rug. I will most likely keep 3.5 as my primary system. I'm too damn old and have too little time to run around willy nilly learning new game mechanics. Let's leave that up...

I agree with recent sentiments that Greyhawk is not lost. The setting has merely taken on an undead template, complete with phylactery. It'll be back. Just when you least expect it. :cool:

Dude, do your research. The RPGA and Wotc had bigger plans for Greyhawk BEFORE Hasbro took over. After the takeover, Greyhawk was relegated to the dustbin, mostly by people within the company who don't really like the setting... *Cough cough collins cough* Living Greyhawk limped along after that.
