    Collected Core Handbook Errata

PHB 179(typo): The second paragraph under the heading Knowledge Skills starts, "The check DC increases based on the specific topic and how common the knowledge is. The check DC increases based on the specific topic and how common the knowledge is."

    Consoling a bad-luck player

These are some...amusing solutions. Put him in a bubble? Kill him? :D And this is an Eberron game, so there are action dice already in place. They just seem a bit irrelevant with some of the rolls that he makes.

    Consoling a bad-luck player

I'm currently DMing a Savage Tide game and have an odd problem with one of the players: he has TERRIBLE luck with the dice. He went nearly the entirety of a session without rolling over an 8 on attack rolls, and he's the vocal enough type that the whole group had to hear a big rant each time...

The EN World FREE Character Portrait Request Thread!

I've been mulling the idea, though the fact that the request-to-artist ratio seems about 20-to-1 makes it difficult to really pick out one to try :\

A feat to add Dex bonus to damage instead of Str?

This isn't melee attacks, but Crossbow Sniper from PHBII allows you to use half of your dex bonus to damage with a crossbow.

    Is DDO worth it?

DDO would make an excellent single-player or co-op game. Some of the mission structures and storylines are really interesting the first time through, but having to repeat the same handful of missions over and over to level and get better equipment really drains the life out of everything. Not...

    Kenku scholar

My ideas for him as a character had him as more of a hands-on type learner. He would go out of his way to get at hidden texts, and would rather spend time studying in ruins than in a library. But if you like the concept itself, I'm sure he can be adapted to just about anything. I have...

    Updated Warmage Variant Spell List

My idea of warmage was one trained to both deal damage and control the battlefield. While the latter is certainly not on the level of, say, the druid, it does seem to be a principal theme of the spells available. For that reason I can't see why one would replace Black Tentacles or Fire Storm...

    Valenar Elves (Eberron)

I've used the Races of Eberron replacement for weapon proficiencies for my Valenar elf. You might also want to consider some of the racial variant features for a "desert" elf: http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/races/environmentalRacialVariants.htm#desertElves As you plan on ignoring the stat...

    Kenku scholar

Well, it took me longer than I thought it would to be able to get around to finishing this little guy up. Wolv0rine: When you first mentioned the depiction being off, I thought that it might have something to do with a difference of source. My introduction to D&D was 3.0, and while I knew that...

    As the Kroh flies

What program are you using to color your images? If you're using Photoshop, you can set your lineart as a layer, then change the layer setting to "Multiply." Then create a layer beneath it for colors. That should help you avoid that faint white outline left over after coloring, as it should...

Firstly, thank you Wolv0rine for giving me some new things to consider. I actually have some time off today and hope to spend some of it finalizing this design, so it's nice to have areas to focus upon. I'll take your suggestions point-by-point here: Points 1&2 That's interesting, as I...

    Kenku scholar

When I first designed him I simply thought that the beak would shut well enough to allow inhalation. I didn't even think about lips being necessary for smoking, so it's helpful of you to point it out. I'm glad that it does manage to get across some sense of the character, something I have...

    Kenku scholar

Hi all. Of late I've been working on designing what is to become a kenku Loremaster. I've spent a while working on his look, and have at last come up with something show-able. I'd like to get a bit of feedback on this work, to see if there are any things that stand out or seem worthy of...

    Spectral Hand

Also: Since Spectral Hand is moving toward and away from a target in order to deliver a touch spell for a caster, does it stand the risk of provoking attacks of opportunity?

    Domain powers and Arcane Spells

I would guess so, though I'm not entirely certain. I'm also a bit unclear as to whether a wizard's prohibited school prevents him or her from casting divine spells of that descriptor.

    Spectral Hand

Can Spectral Hand be used to deliver touch spells cast through a wand or scroll? Since casting a touch-range spell is described as "charging" one's hand or body with the spell until something is touched, it seems as though it could be possible.

    Vicious weapon ability and DR

The vicious magical quality gives an unnamed bonus to damage dealt, which I interpret to be plain physical damage when it comes to overcoming DR. Is that the case? So a higher-level barbarian in adamantine armor would have little risk adding the extra 2d6 to each blow?

4th-level Pre-Gen PCs for the Worldwide D&D Game Day

I ended up with the cleric, and he had the Good and Earth domains listed. Both Moradin domains, at the very least. I was a bit confused as to why he had such poor armor(for a level 4 character) and a variety of expensive alternate metal crossbow bolts.

    The Novice (0-level class)

That was primarily a holdover from the module. It included making a tally of actions the characters made during the module and giving them suggested alignments. I think that it's mostly a means of helping out players that have never had experience with D&D before, so I might end up dropping it...
