I had the same problem with it, so I'd suggest reading te Tawny Man trilogy. If I recall correctly, while it doesn't take up right after the first trilogy, in fact its years later, it does a good job of taking over.

Robin Hobb is definitely a very good author, the Farseer trilogy is the first set of books, followed by the Liveship Traders trilogy, then the Tawny Man trilogy, the Tawny Man trilogy is a follow-up on the Farseer trilogy and is very well done. I'm not sure how to describe the writing style...

Firstly, I have to agree with you about Blood and Fists, and not because I was one of the editors of the first version of it :) Second, I agree with the fractional bonuses, and had the same idea before UA came out with it, and wasn't even aware tat UA came out with it till a few days ago...

If you enjoyed Royal Assassin muchly, I'd suggest reading the Tawny Man trilogy by Robin Hobb .. it continues Ftiz's story, and is quite well done in my opinion.

SAS and GodLike both do a good job with supers gaming, GodLike's only problem is it's primarily set in WWII era

Because you gain other benifits along with gaining that level. What you propose isn't tied in with a level, it's something -extra-. Which means that to gain a feat with this system, say 'Dodge' at first level costs you 700xp. But, if I wanted to get 'Dodge' at say, 2nd level, it costs 1400xp ...

No .. he said a character can't have more than twice his -character level- earned feats .. specifically he said that fighter bonus feats do not count towards this value. So a first level fighter, could have 1 extra feat. But that doesn't solve the problem of a higher level character paying...

My only complaint is, that it is easier for a lower level character to "learn" a new feat or skill, than a higher level character.
