It is a pity nobody on Twitter took the time to investigate. Reddit did though.
And I did too, I've seen the series and I read her comic, Black Silence, there is a translate version you can google.
There is virtually nothing in her comic related to 1899.
The only resemblance was a black pyramid and some eye symbols.
The entire story and execution was completely difference.
Stargate was more similar to 1899.

The setting is a ship at sea in the late 19th century. A strange event occurs, and the crew and passengers appear to be repeating the same actions over and over, without remembering. There is a mysterious metal hatch in the deck of the ship which leads into a huge machine, far to big to fit in the ship. Passing through the machine, other worlds can be found, such as monster-infested swamps.
It turns out that the ship is a simulation, forming an enclosure for the humans (and others) who are in a sort of zoo, where aliens watch them for entertainment purposes.
