"Harold" steps forward and utters a freakishly loud, ice-cracking "SQUAWK!" that his past companions are familiar with, but that just about shatters the eardrums of everyone else. A shower of blue-white sparks envelops two of the creatures, followed by an expanding circular wave of blue flames.

The shrieking bird-lizard closest to Beatrice blasts her with a terrible "CAAWWWW!!!!", piercing into her skull like a nail. Beatrice puts one palm to her temple and tries to rub away the pain. When she moves away her hand and reopens her eyes, she suddenly looks very startled...

Meanwhile, the bird-lizard that Eithal took an axe to responds with a savage bite to one of the Warden's arms. It glares at her intently even as it latches onto her, focusing on the warden to the exclusion of everything else.

On the other side of the battle, two flight-capable bird-lizards burst out of the trees and alight on the ground. One goes for Beatrice and slashes her with a large claw on its foot (which serves to startle and confuse the blackguard even further). The other, with a crossbow bolt sticking into a wing, spots Damen and charges him. It slashes at him and tears into the thick roots he's hiding in, but Damen is unharmed.

The other large, flightless bird-lizard continues its charge toward Jarel-karn and slams into him before he can react. It gets past his defense, bares its maw of sharp teeth, and snaps viciously at him.

The last of the smaller bird-lizards caws madly at Damen, but he brushes the noise off as he focuses on defending himself from the one that charged him.

Damen grunts in surprise as he is assaulted, assuming he had hidden better. Suddenly, he vanishes in a cloud of inky black. Nothing of the drow can be seen, but the loud squawk of the beast indicates he is up to something. When the drow is suddenly flung into the side brush, he makes a dash back into the darkness and disappears.
OOC: Cloud of Darkness. Damen then attacks w/ Backstab vs Flier 1: Hit, 31 dmg (bloodying it). Damen then uses a free action to draw his hidden blade (for OAs). Edit: After being flung, uses his Tactical Trick to move (w/o drawing OA) to L18 (inside his cloud) and hides: Stealth 23 (-5 penalty for movement).

Immediate Interrupts: If attacked and a +4 would negate it, the attack misses and Damen can shift up to 3 squares (Cunning Escape). Otherwise, if hit vs AC or Reflex and the attack would bloody him or is a crit, he takes only half damage (Step Aside).
