GM: I am generally a little more permissive about retraining than the core rules allow, but it comes at a price: 100 gp per level of the power to be retrained and only when you gain a level and have some downtime. (Replacing powers for free at the normal levels when they are available is still allowed but that isn't until Paragon levels.) You'll receive some reward money from Celen after this and may spend it to retrain to thunderwave. I actually own Heroes of Shadow now but I do not see thunderwave as a wizard at-will power. Are you certain that is the correct source book? Either way I'll need a full write-up if I don't own the book. Right now I only have the PH, PH2, MM, MV, and HoS.

You'll be able to identify the staff as soon as you have time for a short rest. Until then you cannot use it as your implement.

OOC: I meant to retrain 'Tunderwave' from the PH (a power Erik has) to 'Unraveling Dart' from HoS.

I will update the character sheet after the next short rest, to include the staff bonus then.

OOC: There are not so many transmutation powers in existence. Erik has all that are. I was just looking for a damaging ranged non-area spell.

BTW, Erik is ready to flee, if someone points him a good exit.

OOC: I didn't see an obvious exit on the map, but there's got to be a way out of here other than where we came in.
Lia looks for another exit (and if there is one, she finds it).

Unfortunately for party, it seems that there is no other exit than the main doors, and from the sound of things the City Watch has brought a blacksmith to hammer away at the bolt locking the door. The only other way out would be through the secret door to Darok's office, but you definitely heard the City Watch milling about in that portion of the building. You seem to be at a critical impasse. One way or another the City Watch is going to be upon you in moments and you had better be prepared.
GM: I'll give you a day or two to decide how to react before the main doors burst open.
