Kerlan and Manny recognize the creature as a Derro. Tylara's Knowledge of Nature is not helpful in this instance. Capizzio is unable to detect any active dweomercraft at this great distance from the creature with his Spellcraft skill, and his spell likewise Detects no magic. Action for Relós? Kerlan's Web spell is executed as planned, and snares the odd, blue creature in mid-spring, and he is now dangling a foot above the cave floor enmeshed in Webs that extend from the floor of the cave to the ceiling some 12-15 feet above. Sebruce begins to cry uncontrollably, "Ahhhh, hahh hahh hahh, Sebruce no can move. Wicked Salmon Orc eat his liver now, ahh hahh hahh hahh!"

OOC: So what does Manny know about Derro? What did he read about them in those extensive works about the Underdark?

Manny studied about the Derro race some during his Fey Biology sequence at Whirtlestaff's. Derro are not actually fey, but they are descended from fey who mysteriously moved underground ages ago. Derro lust for the comforts of the surface world, but sunlight causes them to blister, burn, and ultimately to die. They have been known to abduct surface-dwellers for the purpose of conducting strange experiments to understand and counteract this weakness of their kind. As far as is known, they have met with no success at this endeavor, due in large part, no doubt, to the inborn, intrinsic madness that plagues all derros. They are known to often fight with the aklys, and they use a cord secured to the weapon to retrieve it after it is thrown. They also often use other strange weapons and toxins. They are uniformly evil and quite mad, but it is possible to remove this madness by use of a wish, which also has the secondary effect of increasing the derro's wisdom immediately by a great deal, but worsening its charisma by a like amount as it does so.
