Going to Colonial Williamsburg, VA. We leave on Dec. 30 and return Jan. 1. (Hmmm,,, interesting url on that one...)

One of my characters in a previous gaming group was a paladin who was also a blacksmith. One of the people in the group (a DM but not for that particular game) suggested I draw a layout for a blacksmith shop. One book, lots of web sites, and many hours later, I'd designed the layout for a simple shop. I knew nothing of blacksmithing before that little activity, and know horribly little more now, but I at least know what a forge, bellows, and quenching bucket all are (the anvil I knew).

When we go to Williamsburg, we'll visit a working blacksmith shop, as well as a foundry. I want to show my daughter (8 y.o.) these places. Then my wife and daughter can go off and shop. Okay, maybe they can split after we've gone to the gunsmith. Oh and then there are the taverns...

("Colonial" is nice, but the hotel has high speed wireless. ^_^)

Going with Awayfarer and some other folks to Medieval Manor in Boston for the New Year's celebration. Gonna eat with our hands, sing songs, and do other medieval things. Even the cast drinks for the New Year's show, I've been told.

I know there area lot of ENWorlders around Boston. Anyone else gonna be there?
