I am reading Mercedes Lackey's The Shadow Serpent it is in her elemental master series which combines psuedo earth historical seetings, magic and the retelling of fairy tales.

I am not sure what fairy tale this one is based on but I know that The Fire Rose the first book which is about a fire elemental mage is the retelling of Beauty and the Beast. Another one The Gates of Sleep is a reteeling of Snow White.

After I got to the end of the book The Shadpw Serpent I realized it was a retelling of Snow White.

Finished Realms of Mystery and also read Shadowbred by Paul S. Kemp in the past month. Next up from the stack of books in my to-read pile is either Ghostwalker or Bladesinger, both from the FR line. Also I'm looking forward to The Crystal Shard being collected into a Trade paperback which I'll get to add to my TPB's of the Dark Elf Trilogy. Don't think that's out till January though.

I just received Cityscape, Complete Mage, Dragon Magic, Expedition to Castle Ravenloft and Tome of Magic: Pact, Shadow and Truename Magic from Amazon an hour ago and will be voraciously devouring all five books this month.

I've just finished Dan Abnetts 'Armour of Contempt', the most recient Gaunts Ghosts book. Its a good turn following the last two (which were a bit of a downer)

I've started 'Casino Royale' the first James Bond book by Ian Flemming, and so far its not that bad.

I'm also looking forward to the first book in Dark Horse's new Farhad and the Grey Mouser series (which should arrive early next week)

I just finished "The Ruin" (FR, Year Of Rogue Dragons III) a few days ago and have started on "The Shattered Land" (Eberron, Dreaming Dark II). After that, I'll be moving on to "Ghosts Of Onyx" (the latest Halo novel by Eric Nylund).

And when I get the chance, I'll be checking out the Deities and Demigods I just got off eBay with the Cthulhu and Melnibonean mythoi. I have never seen this version of the book before, and the collector in me hasn't stopped smiling since I opened the package. :D

Finished up Altered Carbon by Richard K. Morgan. It was a darn good book. I'm bumping the next Takeshi Kovacs novel a few rungs up my to be read pile.

Started on Tigana by Guy Gavriel Kay. Got about 120 pages into it yesterday. I've got my bearings on the story now, and its really good. Kay writes beautiful prose.

Finally finished the "Inhumans" trilogy by John Marco. (Great start in Book 1, downhill from there, IMHO.) :\

Am now reading the "Lemony Snickets" books, and then on to the "Harry Dresden" series.
