I6: Ravenloft (adapted to 3.x) - OOC Thread - CALLING MY PLAYERS!

"OOW! Seriously? Who put spikes here? WHAT ABOUT THE CHILDREN!?!?!?"

Also, with the raw you linked I apparently can't fail a tumble check to shorten falling distance or tumble past an opponent without provoking an AoO. nice. :)

I can only say that Strahd Von Zarovich cares not for children, other than their young, fresh blood. Wait, did I say that? :)

Also, with the raw you linked I apparently can't fail a tumble check to shorten falling distance or tumble past an opponent without provoking an AoO. nice. :)

That's what happens when a character is as skilled at something as yours apparently is. But don't worry, there will be plenty of enemies and falls to take care of you.

Oh, also...wizards (and other arcane casters) can consider joining the Enclave (High Order of the Arcane). While there are some benefits (like access to their libraries, more easily researched spells, and the ability to qualify for the prestige class "Mage of the Arcane Order"), it is not required. Of course, there are some drawbacks too...like the oath to hunt down those that would de-stabilize the veil of magic that surrounds the world of Elia. :)

Strahd, if your evoker is interested, let me know, and I will get you more details.

btw, you have some harsh words for our friend Strahd. How do you know that he has no like of the children? ;)

Also, here is the draft of Delkat. Still need to figure out equipment and background.

I selected two feats from Libris Mortis, hope that is an acceptable source.

Appearance: Studious looking. Close cropped hair. Delkat's eyes flicker with insight and knowledge. Normally choosing to dress in something sensible and appropriate to the situation -- never flashy. He has a birthmark in the shape of the sun on his chest.

Personality: Dry, direct, logical -- always looking for the reason behind things, the cause and/or effect. Humor has been determined to be superfluous.

Strahd, Ares looks pretty good. However, he should get 1 more language, since Tieflings get Common & Infernal automatically.

Also, I can't make sense of your skills; they are really hard to read. Would you mind reworking them in the following style for me:

Appraise +6 (2 ranks, +4 Int)
Balance +8 (1 rank, +5 Dex, +2 race)
Jump +4 (2 cc ranks, +2 Str)
Etc, etc, etc...

Done.

I'm still confused.

A 5th level evoker with an 18/19 intelligence should have 48 skill points to spend.

Concentration 8 ranks
Hide* 6 ranks
Knowledge (arcana) 6 Ranks
Knowledge (religion) 2 Ranks
Knowledge (planes) 6 Ranks
Move Silently 1 Rank
Spellcraft 8 ranks

Now, best I can tell hide and move silently are NOT class skills for your PC, so those should be cross-class ranks. But with that said, you can only have cross-class skills to half your character level, which would mean your max on hide is 3 ranks. But even taking that into account, you've only spent 38 of 48 skill points.

Or am I missing something?

Sorry I've been so quiet, I went away for Mother's Day weekend (and am exhausted now!!). Looks like I have a lot to catch up on!

So assuming we have enough healing / cleric-y types, is there something you guys think the party is missing? I don't have any concepts in mind yet really. And I'm not *totally* clear on what the roles are of some of the specialty classes that we have people playing.

Rhun, is there a date you know you want the characters by? I don't want to hold anyone up.

OK, Delkat's crunch is done and uploaded to RG w/ a few fixes from the above post. Just need to work on his background, of which I have a few ideas.

So I think we stand as:

Kinem-Duskblade
Renau1g-Sarryx- Dragonfire Adept
Fenris-leaning towards Psychic Warrior
Queenie-Initial interest in cleric
Strahd-Tiefling Evoker
Jemal-James-swashbuckler/two weapon AC specialist
S@squ@tch - Cleric of Aditi? (Going into Radiant Servant of Aditi)
Nebten-Human war cleric/Stormlord (i think)

Sound right? How balanced does this look?

Queenie,

Hope the weekend wasn't too tiring (and more relaxing).

My PC is similar to a warlock a ranged blaster, with some interesting effects (similar to an archer-type)
Fenris - is a light-tank style (I think)
Jemal - similar to a rogue/fighter MC with a bit better fighting ablity and a bit less skills

As for what we need, I think we have a lot of the bases covered, with the exception of someone to uncover traps and disable them.

Of course, feel free to play whatever you want, I'm sure more divine-types won't be a bad thing where we're going ;)

No worries! I spent most of the day yesterday hanging with my mom, so I'm a bit behind now myself.

Echoing Renau1gs statement, I think the primary roles are covered, with the exception of the "rogue" area. That said, you can still play anything you want. I don't mind if a role isn't covered particularly well. While S@s character is going to be able to handle healing nicely, Nebten's cleric is going to be extremely lacking in healing, and aimed more at tanking.

Rhun, is there a date you know you want the characters by? I don't want to hold anyone up.

I think you guys are more excited to get going that I am at this point. LOL. But let's set a tentative date of June 1st for the start of the game...so let's say May 25th as the deadline for characters to be finished. That will give me a week to check them over. Sound fair?
