Skeletons are immune to poison and disease -- which makes sense, considering.

Still, max damage is nothing to sneeze at. :)

And it was nothing to sneeze at in the end. I believe with Caden and Roithe's attack, the skeleton was left at 2 hp. With Stick's massive crit-o-powa, it ended the day at about -26 hp, more than enough to obliterate it back to 3.5!

The combat is over, and the "Rest Round" is now up (see the IC for more info). Post here if you have any questions!

Would Roithe benefit from a healing word?

Also that was a short rest for Rashka IC.

I just assigned Rashka under the authority of Mialucus and Caden. Hope that's cool.

Thought it appropriate that the Temple assign Rashka as an assistant and thereby Rashka needing to obey orders. I'm opening this up for a plot hook that some other person in the Temple may want Rashka to not succeed, or maybe Sune herself is steering him away from power, or any other such something that eblue would enjoy expanding upon.

Plot hook laid.

Well, IC neither Mialucus nor Caden are part of the church hierachy so it seems a bit peculiar... unless it's been done to somehow humiliate Rashka? I guess it depends what you want to get out of it in terms of roleplaying situations : do you *want* to be ordered about all/some the time? I admit that I'm a bit uneasy about an "advantage" that seems designed to make Rashka strongly resent the one using it (and Mialucus is not so high-minded as to NOT use it if there's a magical/monetary advantage to be gained). But if that's the sort of situation you want to roleplay, then sure. Might be character building for the elf. ;)

For myself I was seeing Mialucus as the young late-comer, Caden as the ultra-competent veteran and Rashka, based on this post and his spy/evil mastermind theories, as the (reluctant/*somebody's* got to do it before we all happily walk off a cliff) strategist of the group. YMMV, of course.

Could you go more into why Rashka needs to be subordinate to the other two for this to work? If it's just to keep him away from the temple, then the assignation to Mialucus would be enough... and it doesn't seem to have worked too well for whoever, so probably not Sune. :)

"Although I have to say, since being assigned to you Mialucus, every day has been an adventure. That and my status in the Faith has grown tremendously!"

Interesting plot hook CaBana! Could I bother you to put that in The Dustbowl wiki? Here is the link if you don't mind. If you don't have time or DO mind, I will place it in the wiki.

Regarding the status updates, I should have time for a mini-one by Sunday, and hopefully the beginning of the dungeon crawl by Monday, but it might take me a while (with being the weekend and all). Thanks for the awesome and very entertaining posts!

Yeah weekends are no good for updating things, it's miraculous just to keep up ;)

But I will add the bit to the wiki.

imagine this, Caden and Rashka have been working together for a bit, with a fairly equal power balance. But since Caden runs the PI side, he got final say when it came to his business. (so Rashka will listen to orders from Caden, though it isn't required by the church.)

Then Rashka's superior in the church assigned him to Mialucus. (Wether the assignment came from somewhere else...)

Now Rashka has been traveling with Mialucus, and Caden. (Because Caden is like that)

Mialucus hasn't been informed that he has the ability to give Rashka an order, but the way the assignment was worded, Rashka is Mialucus' assistant. Mialucus has taken this at face value so far, if he needs help, Rashka will help.

But the reality of the situation is that Mialucus is always hungry for adventure, and dragging Rashka along. Rashka enjoys the adventure, and loves the company of Mialucus, but hates being away from the Temple.

However, instead of slowing Rashka's progress, it has quickened the pace, because of the accolades received during adventures.

Rashka see's this, but is still reminded what this assignment was originally intended to do... Keep him away from the Temple, and not climbing ranks.

So Mialucus isn't "Actually" holding Rashka back, but Rashka still resents the assignment for it's original purpose. (Or maybe he thinks everyone is out to get him)

If Mialucus realized that when he doesn't ask, but instead tells Rashka to do something, that Rashka does it ever time, he may start taking advantage. That is fine OOC, but I won't know how Rashka reacts IC until it happens. (he has a tendency to ignore direct orders)

Rashka doesn't get ordered on purpose, it's more like Mialucus calls out "Rashka, save Roithe" and Rashka saves Roithe, no "Yes Sir" or any of that.

Rashka just needs to ensure that whatever report Mialucus gives at the end of the assignment is a good reference. Including a paraphrase of "Listens to orders", as that has been the most notable black mark on Rashka's record. (his inability to cow to superiors)

@binderfred I agree with your character synopsis above, and I think this contributes to that. Caden is a veteran, and Mialucus is a young buck, the two play off each other in such a way as to push to hard, to fast, all the time.

Rashka brings a heavy dose of brakes to the group. but can't stop the train because of his partial employ for Caden's PI firm, and his new assignment as help for Mialucus. It's a good way for Rashka to bring some much needed perspetive without stopping the fun.

(And I'm sure Rashka could go back and look through the actual assignment to find some loophole that equalizes the power balance slightlty)

So I wouldn't expect Rashka to act as a subordinate, but don't be surprised if he does.

[sblock=EDIT]

This got really long, and I don't have time to edit... Sorry
