Round 1

[sblock=Question]Say, hypothetically, someone were to fall out of the train or off a cart. What happens? I mean, even if there's no fall damage, we're probably moving so quickly that they'll be out of the fight.[/sblock]

[sblock=Answer to question] The rail is moving at a considerable pace, so falling off would be rather... bad. :devil:

However, do keep in mind that if you are ever push/pulled off of a ledge of something, you get a save to grasp the edge. IF you were to be pulled/pushed/slid off the edge and you happened to fail your save, you would take 5d10 falling damage. In order to catch up, you will need to spend two full rounds moving at sprinting pace (2 double moves while running) and succeed in a DC 15 athletics check to grab a hold of the last rail car and pull yourself aboard. [/sblock]

Surprise round!
Masumi says, "are those the bad guys?"

Minor action: Masumi places her Warlock's curse on Tracker (if there is an appearance to a curse it is flowery)

Tracker feels a tingle in body, a shiver running through his chassis and sees dozens of ghostly flowers sprouting from him. Angered at the display, he pulls his cart over to the hole in the west side of the rail and jumps aboard. In mid-air, the warforged's body twists and reshapes itself into the metalic semblance of a wild cat, it's tail a wide, tear-shaped plate of spikes. As it's back feet hit the floor of the rail car, the wild cat leaps forward and around you, landing in front of the meddling arcanist.

Roaring with a fierceness that shakes the rail car, the wild cat slashes Masumi with both of it's front claws, drawing several lines of blood across her chest and shoulders. The cat grins at the three opponents he sees before him and backs off a step, daring them to attack.

The rest of Trackers crew follow his orders and surge north, firing off their elemental cannons. The blasts hit the rail's main engine dead on and flames begin to spew forth from the devastation!

[sblock=Actions]

Tracker moves aboard and uses Form of the Relentless Panther. He then uses Form of the Relentless Panther Attack to shift over to Masumi and slashes her for 16 damage and ongoing 5 damage (save ends). As a free action, he marks Grryth, Gurdan, and Masumi.

The rest of the crew fire their cannons at the lightning rail's main engine and hit, starting the skill challenge below. [/sblock]

[sblock=Skill challenge: Engine Fire!]

The lightning rail's main engine is on fire! This is a Complexity 2 skill challenge (6 successes before 3 failures).

Any round in which NO ONE attempts to deal with the fire will count as a failure.

No skill is impossible to use if used right and is creatively described. Please no one-line descriptions of using skills, especially if you are trying to use it out of the norm. I may give bonuses for creativity! Amuse/impress me and see what happens! If you want to use a power instead of a skill, go for it, but it better make sense and be described well.

ooc: No time to post my turn, but may I suggest that someone who doesn't have a ranged at-will pull work on the engine, so someone with a ranged at-will pull (like me) can use it to hilarious effect.

[sblock=ooc]
also no time to post turn till tomorrow, but I would suggest that someone may want to hop aboard the empty elemental cart and take out the other bandits - preferably someone with a high arcana skill (just in case it's needed to fly the carts and fire the guns... Grryth would do it, but there is a big metal bad guy that just hurt a little girl and he needs to be taught a lesson!

Round 1!
Occ: Great now were fighting transformers!

Masumi is taken aback by the sudden fierce attack. Grabbing her Quickcurse rod she says, "get away" trying to will the panther to the other side of the train.

Move Action: Draw Quickcurse rod
Minor action: Curse Tracker again
Standard Action: Curse of the dark dream

The metal jungle cat spots the little girl going for the rod by her side, and before she can aim the rod at him, it swipes it's claws at her once more, leaving another deep line of red in her side. This causes the warlock to let off the spell at the wrong time, and while the arcane energies blast the beast back a few steps, it did not have the effect she was looking for. However, a ghostly trail seems to lead itself from the cat's chest to the Masumi's rod. It seems that a flick of the wrist might just send more arcane energies through the trail and into Tracker once more.

[sblock=Actions]
Curse of the Dark Dream is a ranged attack, which provokes an attack of opportunity. Tracker gladly takes this attack as an opportunity action and hits Masumi for 14 damage., which massively bloodies Masumi. She now has 9 HP left.

An attack roll of 14 misses Tracker, so no damage is dealt, but as a minor action on your turn, you can sustain the power and slide him 1 square in any direction you would like. The ability to sustain this effect ends if he makes a saving throw. [/sblock]

Lo-Kag, after accessing the situation, smiles as he notices the now empty elemental cart. He runs forward and steps aboard easily as the one who occupied it is now busy with three of his companions. He looks at the controls for the cannon.

[sblock=skill check]
arcana: 1d20+5 = 13.
[/sblock]

"Ha ha! I've used one of these before!" He rotates the cannon, aims at the remaining flying cart on the left side of the train, and fires...BOOOOM!

[sblock=ooc]
can I fly away to attack the others or do I have to wait for another round?
[/sblock]

Alexia practically jumps out of her skin when the elemental energies course through her, but she recovers quickly enough. She draws her sword as she moves to the newly created aperture, leaving her shield in her seat. Locker her gaze on the nearest bandit, she beacons towards him with her empty hand as though asking him to dance. She then clenches her hand into a fist and pulls it back towards herself. The man jerks out of his seat. Alexia notices Lo-Kag behind her, grimaces, and repeats the gesture against another bandit.

[sblock=If at least one of the bandits falls]Alexia watches detachedly as the body (or bodies) go tumbling to the ground. "What silly little things," she muses.[/sblock]

[sblock=Round 1 Actions]Minor: Draw longsword.
Move: Move to P12.
Standard: Cutting Words vs Bandit 2. Hits Will 24 for 7 psychic damage, and the target is pulled to P14.
Action Point: Cutting Words vs Bandit 3. Hits Will 15 for 20 psychic damage, and the target is pulled to N18. On a miss, which is depressingly possible, I gain 7 temp hp. "Thanks Lo-Kag. I still despise you, but at least you aren't currently trying to kill me."

Kalidrev, for future reference, would you mind if we rolled the save and fall damage for stuff like the above?[/sblock]

[sblock=Tactics]As a reminder, I have a lot of ways to boost your accuracy, but I need to know ahead of time when you want them.[/sblock]

[sblock=Driving the Elemental Carts] Driving the elemental carts is a move action. The carts have a speed of 6 (remember that while that may seem slow, it's relative speed to the train). As you used your move action to get on the cart, but only moved 4 squares, you can use your 2 remaining squares of movement to drive the cart up to 2 squares. Just give me coordinates for both YOUR square and the CANNONS square [/sblock]

Lo-Kag jumps onto the elemental cart, thinking he was free and clear and although he remembered how to use the elemental cannon on the cart, as he pulls the firing mechanism, he is rewarded only with a "clunk", and searches around fervently for the reason why it didn't fire. Looking at the controls, he noticed that there was an empty hole in the shape of a rod; much like the rod hole in the side of the elevator that allowed the gnome to use the lift, back in Sharn.

Having pointed the cannon directly at the bandit's cart, however, Lo-Kag can see the altered human wide-eyed and his knees shaking a bit. He looks surprised to still be alive and riding his cart.

[sblock=Cannon Attack] Firing the cannon requires a rod, which Lo-Kag doesn't currently have... however, for being creative (and cause you pointed the cannon right at him), I'm going to give bandit #1 "2 for flinching" :D. Until the end of Lo-Kag's next turn, Bandit 1 will take a -2 penalty to all defenses. [/sblock]

[sblock=Falling Bandits] If you guys have the ability to pull/push/slide and try to knock the badguy off of the carts, go ahead and roll the saves for falling, but give them a +2 bonus on these saves while they are riding in the carts because they are designed to keep its rider mounted. If you were to do this from anywhere else (say the rail car), the bandits will not get this bonus.

And before you ask, Lo-Kag... yes, you get the +2 bonus to falling saves while you are riding in the elemental cart ;) [/sblock]

Alexia's cutting words angers the two bandits enough that they actually take a step forward towards her, in menace, but at the last second they realize what she was doing when an elemental blast of air keeps them upright. The second bandit she used her magical compulsion on was unarmed in their mental fight and took quite a mental beating, one of his eyes filling with blood after a vessel burst within it.

Alexia notices Lo-Kag take to the elemental cart. "Thanks Lo-Kag. I still despise you, but at least you aren't currently trying to kill me."

[sblock=ooc] Sorry THB, great idea, trying to instantly take 2 of them out of the fight, but while both attacks hit their targets and dealt damage, both saved with a 15 and an 18. You can roll these saves in the future. I just thought I'd keep things moving since you're waiting on me for confirmation anyway [/sblock]

[sblock=Stupid seatbelts]I guess they really do help. At least they're prone.

Alexia notices Lo-Kag take to the elemental cart. "Thanks Lo-Kag. I still despise you, but at least you aren't currently trying to kill me."

That was more ooc than anything else, poking fun at how Alexia isn't above using the mechanical advantages the warlord brings to the table just because they're at odds.[/sblock]

"Thanks Lo-Kag. I still despise you, but at least you aren't currently trying to kill me."

Revised action

Lo-kag yells back to Alexia as he's trying to work the cannon. "Hey, even though we hate each other, I'm not stupid. Your fighting skills are...pretty good...and I'm glad we're fighting on the same side."

Frustrated that the cannon would fire, he realizes that he needs a firing mechanism. He gives the foe on the cart a menacing grin. He then turns to the group surrounding the foe that jumped into the train "He's got a metal rod that I need. We must find it so that I can fire the cannon."

ooc:
[sblock=actions]
movement: finish movement to N9
minor: equip longsword
attack: commander's strike against foe at m9: 1d20+11 = 12
[/sblock]

He shouts to Grryth to attack, but he cannot hear.
