If they supported 0e-1e I'd consider it, but I'd have to see what that support consisted of first - if it was merely online versions of pre-existing stuff I'd probably back off, but if there was ongoing new content (adventures, settings, etc.) I'd most likely buy in.

The devil's in the details. It would depend on exactly how they supported the edition - each edition has different needs, and all.

Quite true. But assuming that by "support" the DDI provided comparable online tools to those that exist for 4E, additional edition specific content, and a loosening of the pdf noose on older editions ... then I would be happy to subscribe to the DDI.

Then again, if pigs could swim I'd be willing to fish for pork. And since I think WotC and the DDI supporting older editions has an equal chance of happening as anyone has of meeting an aquatic Sus scrofa domesticus, I hope you'll understand if I don't build up my hopes.

Even if there were a 3.5 or PF version, even if it worked great and allowed me to search through every feat/spell/etc ever published, I woun't pay a monthly fee to access it. The SRD and my books are good enough, and I know them well enough for any game I'm running.

i would actually cancel my subscription to ddi if i had to sift through what ihmo is the garbage of other additions

Admin edit: thanks for working this out below - it's appreciated - but everyone, please do think about how you phrase things. ~ PCat

why? i thought this was a thread where you got to vote and then give the reasons for your vote. i guess i was wrong, ill keep my opinions to myself from now on.

my apologies. i did not mean that other editions are garbage, but that there was a lot of stuff in previous editions that was. there is a lot of stuff in this edition that i feel the same way about. so again i apologize if i offended you by refering to the previous editions as garbage
