[D&D 4e] IG's "The Witchlight Strand"

After that second unexpected blow, Vatan staggers back a few feet, with his dagger hand hanging limp and barely holding the knife, and lets out a loud "AAAAAAAARRRRGG! By all tha' Hells there be, You are gonna pay for that, ya scum sucking dog!!!"

And yes he is using his second wind to regain 7 points (and adding another 7 to O'beth's Healing Word)

Druthruss gets his hand crossbow in order, leans around the cover and shoots at the same orc again before ducking back in. Bolt seems to fly true towards its target.

Now I am assured that if I am in cover or have been out of sight for a moment then I can use my stealth check vs his perception and if won then get combat advantage and so get sneak attack damage for an extra 2d6. Can you decide whether that is appropriate and if so, you can roll the extra damage.

As Jude had B1 marked when he shifted, that triggered his mark. So - MBA against B1 (1d20+8=24, 1d10+4=10) likely hits for 10 [/sblock]

As the orc steps away from Jude, the warrior makes his enemy pay with a stab to the orc's shoulder. Seeing Vatan fall back, Jude steps closer to the falchion-wielding orc, hoping to keep it off his allies. He swings his large blade at the bowman, a wild swing to be sure, but manages to draw its attention.

Aridha spies an opening in the field, and starts to sprint forward at startling speed, falling to all fours as she goes and reverting back to the shape of a great wolf. In that form she covers the ground like a grey streak, arriving at the shaman and leaping up to tear at his flesh and clothing with her jaws and throwing him to one side!

(Minor to wildshape, and then moving to G1 (move of 8) to attack! 21 to hit vs Ref for 5 damage, and I slide him 1sq to G0)

Pier chants, but his spell goes awry.

Aridha moves in in her wolf form and begins tearing away at the orc. The orc drops his bow and counters with a blow from a hidden battleaxe.

O'Beth moves in and says a prayer for Vatan, healing the fighter. He then strikes at the terrorblade and opens a large wound, and the attack envigorates him. Still the shaman manages a retalitory strike on the cleric before backing deeper into the allyway.

Druthruss leans around the corner and sneaks a well-placed bolt into the shaman.

Jude moves up between two orcs and slashes at them both with a whirlwind swing of his sword. The hot spray of blood is great, but not enough to fell either of the orcs. The maneuver leaves him vulnerable, however, and both of the orcs take advantage of the opening. Even as he finishes his swing, Jude is met high and low with axe and falchion, both blades landing in precise harmony. The fighter smashes againt the building behind him as a thick gout of blood pours from his mouth.

In the distance, Andri Ziuul screams as she witnesses the fighter give his life for hers.

When even the simplest of spells fails him, Pier begins to suspect there might be another orc somewhere counterspelling him. He starts looking about at doors and windows, hunting for the imaginary mage. His attention is drawn back to the battle at the woman's cry. He curses roundly when he sees Jude's blood pooling beneath the overturned wagon.

[sblock=ooc]Actually, there is some errata around here somewhere that's changed Magic Missile back to an autohit for a reduced amount of damage. Personally I prefer this way, but if you'd rather use the revised version, I'm cool with that. Just stick with your choice for the duration once you make it.[/sblock]

[sblock]I generally prefer to use the "most official" rules, although I'm loathe to give up the extra damage. Action altered to suit the new errata.[/sblock]

Aridha paces around the orc, snarling and snapping her jaws as she starts to dart in, then quickly jerks back as the orc raises its axe to try to block or counter attack. Finally, after several seconds of the dance, the orc is fooled by her feint and swings the heavy weapon in a full-strength blow that leaves him vulnerable on his flank for a bare instant as he recovers.

Ready for that window though, Aridha surges in, jumping up to get access to the orc's throat and ripping with her powerful jaws!

(Shift to H0 and attack! 17 vs Reflex for 10 damage, and slide target to G1 on hit.)

"Ack ye black blooded, donkey lovin', grack eating curs!" O'beth says spittle escaping in sprays as he curses. "You'll pay fer dat!"

Suddenly Anduri screams and the priest tries to make sure she is all right as the swing comes down. He misses but readies to take on the beast once more.
