Grackle "Grubeater" Granitetop, gnome sorcerer

Grackle slowly follows the rest of the group, until he sees the glint of the shiny stairway and walls ahead....... "OOOOH!!! SHINY!!!!" he exclaims, running forward to admire the shiny architecture up-close. "Hmmm, but how do I move shiny floor and walls so I can build a shiny house with them.........?" the gnome ponders aloud, wracking his brain for solutions.

Grackle suffers no ill effects from venturing on the stairs, but his keen gnomish nose detects a deception...

[sblock=Grackle]The 'mithril' doors are in fact iron doors with only a thin veneer of mithril. [/sblock]

Zorn

Zorn manages to obtain the key without walking on the (probably trapped) stairs.

"I have retrieved the key!" he announces.

ooc: Will save= 1d20+8=16

[sblock=Zorn]The key has a powerful antipathy effect. Any creature touching it, must make a DC23 Will save or be repelled by an overpowering urge to avoid the key. The compulsion forces them to abandon the key and never touch it again. Even on a successful save, a creature feels uncomfortable touching or using it.[/sblock]

Ballista removes her fingers from the arrow notched in her bow to grab the bridge of her nose, and shaking her head as the gnome's reflective OCD gets the better of him.

OOC: All who care to may make a spot check. Grackle gets a +5.

[sblock=Less than 30]Nothing exciting to see just now. Play nice and don't peek at the higher result.[/sblock]

[sblock=30+] Did you really roll a thirty or better? [sblock]The ends of the 'Shiny Stick' Grackle retrieved from the throne seem to be about the same size and shape as the indentation on the doors.[/sblock][/sblock]
