Forked Thread: Scotley's Tomb of Horrors 3.5 Continued

[sblock=Ballista]As she scoops the gem into the bag, Ballista is telepathically infused with the certain knowledge that the gem can grant one wish to its holder. A holder activates it by making a verbal wish. She is left to ponder this as she stands among burned corpses too numerous to count.[/sblock]

Logan sighs again and calls Harrison over to him. "Hold still! Quit your infernal fidgeting! You'd think I was about to administer an enema or something, sheesh!"

Logan expends two more charges from his Wand of Cure Ligt for Harrison:
two clws from wand on Harrison (1d8+1=5, 1d8+1=4)

OOC: that means he is now at 85 of 97. so he is good

Harrison smiles and says, "I have not moved, but rather it was you who walked away before you would let me speak of my injuries"

Jillian Tealeaf, Rogue9, AC25,FF19,T17, HP33/37, F+4,R+13,W+5

Now that everything at the north end of the room has been explored, Jillian turns her attention to the south end where the throne sunk into the floor. More specifically the passage that opened up when the throne sunk into the floor. She first searches the opening and then what is beyond, taking her taime as she goes.

OOC: Taking 20 on search for 34.

A five foot wide passage continues south from the throne for about 20' before widening to ten feet and then into a broad stair that spreads to 30' wide at the top. The steps, wall, and ceiling of this stairwell are each apparently forged of a separate precious or semiprecious metal. A bronze key lies untended on one of the steps. The six steps are made of onyx, pink marble, lapis, black marble, serpentine (golden), and malachite (respectively, from lowest to highest). The walls are lined with copper (untarnished and gleaming) panels set between rare woods inlaid with ivory. The ceiling is silvered iron, formed so as to reflect and multiply light. Upon the fourth step is a large, cylindrical key of bronze. The doors on the south wall are apparently made of mithral. These doors set on the southern end at the top of the stairs are 14-feet wide and 28-feet tall (and very thick). No traps or other obvious hazards are in evidence.

Ballista looks atthe scene and shivers. "So who's got the magic hands to get the key without touchin them steps? Maybe summon a critter to run over the steps and see what happens to it too?"

Zorn

Zorn considers Ballista's request. He walks closer to the passageway and stairs without actually touching anything.

"I may be able to assist in that endeavor. I know a spell that will allow me to bring a small object to me as long as it is within a certain distance. It may or may not work but I will attempt it anyway."

Zorn concentrates and utters a few specific magical words. Combined with certain gestures, he attempts to bring the key to him.

OOC: Casting Mage Hand.

Harrison looks to the doors and says, " I could make a lot of armor with that much mithral, but with all of the traps seen so far, who knows wat may happen."

Logan Lightbringer

"I think I can make a pretty good guess what is likely to happen, and I'll bet it won't be very good!"
