Thoughts on Nikita & Terriers

Agreed. In fact they seem downright masterful at veering off from those cliches just enough to consistently keep me happy.

The last 2 or 3 minutes of every episode are always truly masterful, solid demonstrations of how great the writing is and, somewhat surprisingly to me at first, how great Donal Logue is.

Well you guys seemed to be the only 6 or so watching Terriers. Like Rubicon its going to be cancelled soon.

Yeah, it's a real shame. I'm not sure what is responsible for the terrible showing either. At first articles I read blamed the advertising, but with how quickly it dropped viewers I'm not convinced of that. I think it's one part not fitting with FX's style and one part intelligent, serious writing. Which is sad on two counts, but it is what it is.

For me, it's simply that I didn't think it was very good; nor did I think it had intelligent, serious writing. But my tastes aren't your tastes.

Terriers? Really? I'm curious, did you watch past the first episode? I think it takes the first two to really show its chops (which spells doom for television shows here, admittedly).

You're not the only person I've talked to that has stated those sentiments. That's why I'm not convinced it was solely the advertising.

Make that 7 viewers. :D

I really like Terriers, it seems to flow much better than a typical procedural drama.

How do shows like In Plain Sight, Burn Notice, Psych do so well on USA (all fun shows - me likey) yet on FX, Terriers doesn't get the love? I am guessing it's mostly an advertising problem, since USA ad spams their shows and the whole "characters welcome" is a nice overarching marketing theme.

As for Rubicon, I had no idea that one will be canceled. I really like that one. They don't try to simplify anything and this seasons plot theme was strong. But I had thought Rubicon was more a single season style show with a start and end, like Harpers Island or one of those other planned single season shows.
