"And I had thought, in the interests of showing the Flame's mercy, not to kill anyone. If you try my patience, though..." She trailed off, and pointed her staff at the hobgoblin, who was the only enemy she could attack from the hall. She didn't know if they were intentionally staying far enough apart that she couldn't target two of them with one prayer (save for calling on something she rather wanted to keep in reserve), but it was annoying.

And a still-nonlethal blast of radiant energy hit the hobgoblin square in the chest.

[sblock=ooc]
Standard: sun strike, at the hobgoblin this time. Slide him back one square so he'll need to burn his shift to attack Baern.

A 25 probably hits REF for 11 damage.

Baern throws his big waraxe Tooth up to block the human's strike. It strikes him in the jaw and then the ranger draws his other weapon to swing them both at his foe.

Veruza continues glancing over her shoulder and back to the doors, Cairn, Nyar can keep the whistler blocked in that room with his magic. Help Baern, it's three on one in there, and I can't do it alone. Let's finish these three off quickly, they've proven completely uncooperative. Maybe the whistler can be convinced to join us after their dispatched with.

Not sure why storm pillar isn't in C5 if it's blocking. It would affect anything inside that moved for greater radius and ew would have full freedom in the hall.

Cairn nods at the priestess and closes the door. At least there want be something totally surprising coming out from there.

OOC: [MENTION=2011]KarinsDad[/MENTION], are there any other exits Cairn could see (or notice as secret doors ;) )

He then turns and passes through the door stopping once he sees the lizardman behind the door. He continues rounding it and slams Ghalad Zar into it, weight of the earth pressing onto it's limbs.

[sblock=Actions]
Minor: Close the door (if it takes more, Cairn doesn't do it)
Move: G8 through H7 to avoid OA
Standard: Weight of Earth vs lizards AC; damage (1d20+10=20, 1d10+5=9) - if hit, lizard is slowed

"She's right big guy, go help Baern!" Nyar maintains his concentration on the pillar of lightning.

[sblock=ooc] Just waiting for Cairn to go before I take my turn. Simultaneous post strikes again. I wasn't aware there was a door? I was always referring to the Storm pillar as maintaing the "door" [/sblock]

[sblock=actions] Standard: Storm Pillar. Same location. On my map C5 looks to be in the wall. C6 blocks the doorway. [/sblock]

I'm in after you Cairn! Veruza went dashing down the hall, through the door, and toward the first visible enemy she saw. Spinning in a circle, Veruza extended her arms, bringing the full blade 360 degrees around and at the human. The telegraphed swing proves amateurish, and the gladiator ducks out of the way with time to spare.

Where's, Veruza snaps her head back, CAAAIIIRN! the long elaborate whine is grating on the ear, Concentrate on one at a time, help me, help Baern.

Veruza then brought a prayer to her lips, but staved off the urge to heal Baern, wanting to save her healing for when it was needed most desperately.

The Lizardman moves around Cairn, hits him in the leg, and then moves away.

"Take him down." the Hobgoblin shouts as he points to Baern. The human backs away, feints, and moves back in, the Lizardman moves over to get closer to Baern, and the Hobgoblin moves in and smashes Baern hard in the side.

"Youse easy dwarf." the human says as he punches Baern hard in the throat and in the top of the head. Baern reels and tries to prevent himself from falling.

[sblock=OOC]
Note: Veruza's charge was illegal. A PC can only move from E6 to F6 to get into the room and Veruza's first move ended at E6 at speed 5. A move from E6 to F5 is illegal (diagonal movement across an obstacle is not legal). A charge requires that each square of movement bring the creature closer to the target. Moving from E6 to F6 is not moving closer to the creature. Since Cabana rolled a natural 1, I'm just going to rule that Veruza moved to F2 on her own and used two move actions to do it. No change to the end result.

Lizardman shifts and hits Cairn for 8. Lizardman shifts away from Cairn.

16+mods hits for 8.

Human delays.

Hobgoblin shifts his allies, moves in and hits Baern for 12.

14+mods hits for 12.

Human hits Baern for 11 and for 5.

19+mods hits for 11, 16+mods hits for 5.

Note: Baern needs to make a saving throw or he is knocked prone.

Lizardman, 9, slowed
Hobgoblin, 11
Human, 47
Cairn 42/63
Baern 14/47, bloodied, marked by Hobgoblin
Nyar 33/33
Narvala 46/46
Veruza 40/40

It's the PC's turn.

Sand pit is difficult terrain. Weight benches and other equipment give cover bonus.

"This may not be the safest move, but I did not take vows to the Flame in order to be safe..." Narvala says, moving into the room with Baern, and passing dangerously close to the lizardman before she reaches where she wants to be.

Then she invoked the Silver Flame's power. Thunderbolts crashed into the human and hobgoblin knocking them in opposite directions.

Immediate Reaction to the last successful attack on Baern: Use Preserver's Rebuke to gain a +3 on her next attack against the human.
Move: Move to I4; this probably provokes an OA from the lizardman at G4
Attack: Forceful Denunciation vs. Fort at the human at G1 and the hobgoblin at I1; use Covenant of Preservation ability to slide Baern to I2
28 should hit vs. Fort on the Human; 13 damage, and Narvala pushes him to F1.
31 should hit vs. Fort on the Hobgoblin; 13 damage, and Narvala pushes him to L1.
