The Uncommon Language

I am definitely going to look into the Conan game...

...But to go back to the original topic, languages, part of the reason I am using real-world languages as cultural models is to provide naming conventions for characters from each city. I start out just using a sort of faux-Tolkien fantasy name set and just decided this route had been way over used. How do you create names in your campaigns and how do you think it effects character development?
