Making an "Arcane Paladin" (Was: Martial Arcanists: I need a reminder)

I'm trying to figure something out, but I'm not able to access my books right now so can't look up the rules:

1) is there any way to make a Wizard/Specialist Wizard/Focused Specialist into an armored caster?

2) can a specialist wizard of any kind gain access to prohibited spells via multiclassing?

The concept is a martial arcanist who uses a lot of things like Arcane Channeling, the Sorcerer Draconic heritage (or similar) feats, and Reserve feats. As such, I want the PC to have a LOT of spell slots at his disposal- so multiclassing will be part of the plan, especially a bit of Mystic Theurge.

Thanks, all!

Answer to 1:
Spellsword and Seul Arcanamach allows you to ignore X% of ASF. Bladesinger lets you cast in light armor with no chance of ASF. This is what you meant, right?

Answer to 2:
I think Complete Mage suggests multiclassing into Sorcerer to get access to your prohibited schools/spells.

Embarrassingly, I had forgotten the Spellsword! But I'd rather have a Feat or Alternative Class Feature to do the work- I'm not averse to multiclassing, by any means, but I want to keep this build as streamlined as possible.

1) Armored Mage (fighter ACF, CM)
Can be expanded to heavier armor using the Battle Caster feat (CA)

2) Use Magic Device. There are no exclusive skills in 3.5

Thanks for finding the ACF, Ahnehnois!

Re: 2

I know about UMD, but I'm wondering specifically about multiclassing. I plan on multiclassing between 2 arcane full-casting classes, and I want to clarify whether wizard specialization will impact his spell choice & access in his other class.

No. Each class casts spells separately, and magic item access derived from that spellcasting is adjudicated separately. I don't know about the citation; I suspect there's an FAQ or something in a book that makes this clear.

Page 185 of Complete Arcane specifically states that a specialist wizard that multiclasses into sorcerer can use prohibited schools through his sorcerer class and can use spell trigger items based on spells of the formerly prohibited school(s).

Depending on how crazy you want to get, you could then even go into Ultimate Magus from Complete Mage.

Thanks, y'all!

And yeah- I meant Ultimate Magus when I typed Mystic Theurge. The idea is to have an array of useful spells, and enough slots to channel into reserve feats or things like Draconic Breath (or Infernal Shout or Celestial Lance) without significantly impacting actual spellcasting.

He won't be a front line fighter or even one of my Mage-Brutes (in all probability), but he will have some armor and weapon skills.
