True, I can see that as a factor. But the default assumption that one needs to have one game bothers me.

It's... Between seasons. We have had flurries, warm afternoons and ever thing in between. Can't wait for the snow though!
Hmm - given the demands on my time I've rarely had more than one game so that default didn't seem strange to me. I'm bummed I no longer have the luxury of enough time to have multiple games . . .

I always did like the snow up there - down here they are usually far enough between that they always seem to be in that dirty, slushy state. Plus I've only seen a winter's night aurora down here twice since I moved south.

I also have demands on my time. But I guess the main difference is my games are not lengthy campaigns. Well I have done one or two, but now a days I just run Adventures, with that we can play many more games.

We won't be switching for the main PF group. But I expect to give it a whirl in my other group.

I did just say no to 4E and got talked into it anyway. Was a huge waste of time and money. Won't do it again. I have enough game systems and don't need a new one. If we get tired of playing pathfinder, we have 5-6 other systems we already have we can play. Some of which have not even been played.

I don't get the mentality that one has to "switch" to another game. Why can't people play more than one game?

I checked that I am happy with PF, no need to switch...HOWEVER, the above statement more accurately reflects my thoughts in regards to my gaming. I may give Next a go, but that in no way will be an abandonment of PF at all. I would more then likely play both if I end up liking Next.

I can think of no good reason to refuse to try something new other than "I have looked already and don't like what I see", which doesn't apply to me. So I voted for the "try it and see" option. It's hardly a legally binding choice for life! :)
'Trying' the game will likely cost money, will cost time and may cost the campaign if the person running the previous game becomes enamored with the new game.

Because as pointed out, some folks don't game as often as they would like to. If I was part of a twice a month game I really like, damn right I am not interested in losing even one session to an interloping game. Especially not for a game from a company with a track record like Wotc's.

Don't fix what ain't broke.

Edit:
Say what, now? You'll refuse to try the new game because you're worried that you'll like it?
The worry is that some will really like the game with others hating the game. IMO not chancing schisms is good enough reason to not rock the boat for a campaign that is going great.

Sounds to me like it's more of a concern with the... SQUIRREL!

Where was I? Oh, yes, it's more of a concern with... Ooo, shiney!
