Jariah looked back with a furrowed brow as Fastus pretended to be confused or living in denial about events that just happened. She turned to Wireth with an arched eyebrow, “How could he not know? Even those of us from the rural farmlands know about magical healing from potions and the gods’ own chosen. Even hedge witches and adepts can cast rudimentary healing spells.”

"Becaaaaaaause the first thing he ever forged," said Sachiko as she joined the others, "was also the thickest, strongest head protection anyone could ever have. His own skull. It was his best work. Harder than dragonforged adamantine, yet still remarkably skull-like. Only slightly misshapen, you see? It is why he can never die from a blow to the head."

She crossed her eyes at Fastus.

"I was on my way home yesterday when I noticed some people near my home. But by the time I reached the house no one was there. I guess I was too distracted by seeing the people because when I opened up my house that creature jumped me. We fought for I don't know how long. Then I escaped to my safe room. I was afraid that it would find my safe room and that would be the end. But then all of you showed up and killed it. I have no idea what it is. I have never seen the likes. As far as me being me, are you sure that you are you?"

"Ooo touche'," said Sachiko with admiration. "Who were the other people you saw? Maybe they know more. Oh! But also, we're going after goblins. That's why we're even here! We wanted to ask you if you knew anything about their movements and activities, and where we should go to find them."

Jariah glanced at Wireth with a raised eyebrow, but said nothing about visiting the day before.

Jakira spoke up, “I’m be me, cuz of this.” He gestured to the sigil on his forehead.

The summoner nodded in agreement, “Right, you are definitely you.”

“So you were hiding all night in your safe room, eh? Considering we just dealt with one imposter, mayhap you could actually tell us your name instead of evading the question of your identity with sarcasm. Those evasive answers are what lead us to calling out the other imposter.”

“Who do you know in Sandpoint that would have told us to come here?”
she asked.

Wireth Norin, half-orc falconer

Wireth returned a shallow shrug to Jariah's raised eyebrow. The others already knew the pair had come and found no sign of the Warden the day before, so it wasn't a secret to them. Still, he supposed if the warden felt ill will toward the "distraction" that cost him his snakes, it probably served little purpose to mention the visit again.

Still sore from his wounds and sore at himself for falling in his first combat with the party, the half-orc kept silent. The others seemed to be asking reasonable questions, anyway, so Wireth played the broad-shouldered, silent type for the little humanoid.

"She's the suspicious type," explained a smiling Fastus in a not-that-discrete aside to the little warden. "And we've all been together since this morning," he offered by way of reassurance. "So I'm pretty burning sure none of US are one of THOSE! You're safe now, you know? It's DONE."

The little guy didn't look all that steady to HIM, actually, so he patted him on the shoulder, see if that helped...

"My name is Walthus Proudstump. I am the warden of Brinestump Marsh and I am also a snake wrangler. I do not know who would send you but there are several in Sandpoint that might send you. Sheriff Hemlock might be one? Another could be Shalelu? There is also the owner of the Rusty Dragon. Amy something? Sorry, I didn't mean offense. I just don't see that many people out here and no one has ever accused me of not being me. As far as goblins are concerned I can help there. Also, should you choose, you may stay the night to recuperate after your battle. It ain't much but it sure beats sleeping under the stars. In fact you could use my home as a base while in the swamps if you wish. I'll even cook dinner if you don't mind swamp foods. They may not sound good but they cook up real good. But for now you appear to still have injured. I'll be right back."

He heads upstairs to his bedroom and returns pretty quickly hopping mad.

"Dang thing raided by stash of healing potions. Oh wait there is one more possibility."

He again heads upstairs to his bedroom and returns pretty quickly but this time with a smile on his face.

"Thank goodness it didn't find these scrolls. I have a few healing scrolls. Who is injured. While I heal you someone please tell me of your battle."

OOC: All are welcome to make Sense Motive checks.
