I'm another guy who doesn't like them. I don't hate them, but ...

I don't think they belong in the core rules, and I especially don't like this interpretation of them.

But I suppose I don't have to play one, so whatever. I imagine their existence as a player race will be mostly ignored in my group.

Practically 0% of the world has actually been to the moon, but those who have, used metric measurements to get there...

Back on topic:
I am also disappointed that there doesn't appear to be a subrace for the two different types of Tiefling. The Tiefling in particular had great potential to show off the flexibility of 5e by including both variations as subraces. So far, this does appear to be a missed opportunity. Oh well.
TWO? There were at least three. I could easily see them make a subrace for both the Yugoloth and Demon descended Tieflings.

Touche' hehehe.

The inclusion of the Tiefling race at MINIMUM gives you a neat race to base your more evil BBEGs off of. Either in the PHB or other splat books that followed we all knew they were coming. This way we have them upfront and as was pointed out during the author panel of "The Sundering" the game designers were working with the Erin Evans, author of the famous Tiefling/Sorcerer in the series Farideh, to make sure they brought Tieflings and Sorcerers the right way and did them justice. So yeah they were coming because making fans happy is the goal, and its easier to just ignore something in the book then invent it yourself.

I too am not a fan of dragonborn, tieflings, warforged, or kender, and would prefer them to be in an expansion. But I'm not going to lose sleep over it. With the second page being released, I'm curious to know what this "hellish rebuke" spell is. It's not in basic, so I'm assuming it's in the PHB

Apparently, someone complained to Trevor about focussing on female art with the race previews (all two of them so far). Wow. All kinds in this world, hey? :erm:
