Edit: Way of shadow'd by a wizard. How embarrassing. Did you multiclass while at GenCon, T?

Fixed it for you. And if I had, I wouldn't be able to talk about it.

Also, I was going to call you out for your awesome trolling of "Grayhawk" fans. Then you fixed it. :p

I hope the next adventure storyline is about Elminster trying to convince a halfling named Frodo to take the One Ring to Mount Doom so it can be destroyed once and for all. He could be accompanied by a ranger from the North named Drizzt and a barbarian named Wulfgar. On their way they could stop in the town of Bree at the Inn of the Welcome Wench, but Elminster will be late because he was delayed fighting Mordenkainen in his Obsidian Citadel.

All the while the dark lord Tharizdun sits on his Iron Throne in the land of Thay and plots the downfall of Krynn.

Perhaps a less hyperbolic example would be if they published a new version of Ruins of Myth Drannor but set it in the Greyhawk. That...would be crappy all around.

And now that I think of it, we don't know a lot yet of the "multiverse" yet, but Tharizdun is one of the Great Old Ones that warlocks can make a pact with. Lolth and Tiamat, for example, are in more than one setting, why can't other greater gods try to cause havoc on different worlds?

Makes sense. The heroes of the Flaness have repeatedly thwarted him. He's looking for greener pastures. Tiamat and Lloth keep muttering about this "Toril" place. He's way crazier than they are, so he'll succeed where they've failed.

I am so glad to see that WOTC finally gets the fact that adventure support is Key.

I just wish it wasn't in the form of World Saving mega adventure paths, which I have absolutely no use for.

This is disheartening for me. The kids group and I absolutely love 5e perhAPs the best of all. But I have little time for prep and even less time to spend on converting other edition modules. I dropped PFBB for largely the same reason (and the kids hated grid combats). 13th Age suffers from a similar issue. No adventures.

Its much easier for me to run my OD&D/S&W game, as there is not only reams of old moduls but also gobs of new OSR creations.

I am not going off on a ragequit rant, just that's the way it is with schedules and the need to be able to sit down and play with little prep. More things like LMOP are what we need.

Total whoops moment. I'm also a Greyhawk fan from way back. And yet totally unperturbed by the news.

Figured. Especially with how quickly you fixed it. Still, I thought it was pretty funny given the context.

And I've played probably 5-10 times as much in Greyhawk than in Forgotten Realms. I like both, but my like of FR is fairly recent.

Once we are anywhere near this adventure coming out, I might actually use it for a Greyhawk campaign. It has been a while.

Thinking about it, maybe Greyhawk fans should be happy. It's starting to look like FR is getting the kitchen sink treatment. Everything is getting thrown in there. We have enough resources to run Greyhawk for a very long time. 5e is really easy to use with 1e/2e books. Maybe we should hope they just leave it the Flan alone.

This is very interesting...

1> Are WOTC so short staffed they will farm out all the books post DMG?

2> They appear to be copying Paizo in having books that match the AP but can be used without (see player's companion)

3> Will we get anything not in the realms? as someone said this looks more greyhawk. IS it to to the obsession with factions so it can go with Adventurer's league?

I'm running a Ruins of Undermountain campaign. 2e material has worked really well so far with little to no conversion. If I feel like it, I look up the new monster stats. If I don't, I use the 5e conversion sheet that's floating around. There is almost no time investment. And the balance is close enough for me. It's a megadungeon crawl, so if an encounter is too hard, I'm not tearing up or anything.
