I really hope both my 4e groups choose to convert to 5e…

…because it turns out my subscription to online 4e tools auto-renews in a week. Dang it.

Maybe they'll decide quickly!

I also have to take care of that.

Plus, 5E is like greased lightning on a skateboard compared to some past editions.

But I guess that is only relevant if you want a game that is faster and easier.

I cancelled mine. I love 4e and the character builder but I'm not playing anything right now so it just made more sense to cancel it. I did go in and print out all of my characters to PDF first though. I don't want to loose them just because I can't use the builder anymore.

Digital River's system is so bad that I can't renew my subscription because my credit card number changed. :p

But I own almost all of the books and can do a bit of Excel-fu so it's not -that- big a deal.

I do hope the 5E fans get a better digital situation than people got with 4E. WotC lost a LOT of faith with their post-Dark Sun moves with it.

Care to elaborate for someone with little info on that subject?

Basically they made a bunch of promises about updating the original, superior, offline character builder with Dark Sun stuff, and then they said PSYCHE and put the Dark Sun rules in the new and worse online-only character builder instead. Keep in mind that Dark Sun was an incredibly well-received product, so it was a a major loss for anyone who wanted to stick to the old builder.

Granted the character builder stuff has an ugly history that WotC can't be blamed for, but they still screwed the customers over pretty horribly.

Don't forget that they never updated the monster math in the perpetually half-assed Monster Builder, either.

Okay, maybe they got around to it eventually- I honestly don't know- but that was the straw that broke the camel's back for me. The main tool that I wanted was functionally useless, and I could do better with an Open Office text file and a few bits of formatting.

But as of about a year after the MM3 came out, I know that the MB still hadn't been updated, and was still buggy as hell. It was, basically, useless from day 1 to the end.
